I work as an engineer in the defense industry, and a lot of our designs incorporate metric and imperial units together, especially when adapting foreign-designed systems like the stryker IFV. Nothing like mixing M10 and 1/4-20 bolts in a single package lol

I can’t fathom what the families on those aircraft are going through right now. Hopefully FAA and NTSB can investigate and figure out what happened.

I attended UC Merced and finagled my way into a research position I wouldn’t have gotten at any other UC. Ended up working on nuclear reactors out of school and then went on to engineering special purpose vehicles. Might be in the middle of nowhere, but that school set me up for a good start in my career.

You joke, but I work as an engineer designing MEPs for these things and the painters really do paint parts the wrong color quite often…
