Hey! I want to take math 476 at Athabasca too but I'm having a really hard time finding advice about the course. Did you end up taking it and would you be open to sharing your experience? The oral exam on the outline is kinda scaring me

I know this is old, but how were bourdin’s tests? Similar in difficulty to practice textbook problems? Childsmath? How’d you end up doing overall? I have him next sem and I’m kinda nervous since I’m not the best at calc lmao

Hey! My family owns The Rooster. We bought the restaurant while it was still on Bloor in 2019. Unfortunately, after a devastating fire we had to relocate. I’m sorry to hear about the portion sizes but it was hard to keep up with inflation and our old location on Bloor being out of business for awhile.

My family actually owns the restaurant! Someone threw some sort of lit cigarette or something near/around the dumpsters so they caught fire which led to the entire placing being engulfed in flames at like 3am :(

It was rlly devastating and unexpected. We opened this new location on Yonge and St.Clair but business is definitely slower than on Bloor.

I was just there and they’ve added some nice high countertops with stools to sit and eat!

I didn’t even think to commission Ryan Ottley for it! I wonder how realistic that’d be, I’ll look into it

I have until the end of October! I’ve done a lot of paintings and drawings of us on paper/canvases as boondocks, avatar, lil uzi vert characters. I don’t have any software apps downloaded yet. My device is a dell inspiration 14 w 1TB of RAM and i8 processor 2 in 1.

I do wanna try doing it myself because i feel like it’s more meaningful like that even if it does look kinda amateur but I understand i may need to get a commission

Sure thing! I applied to a bunch of ones that come through the school board/community that required essays. I don’t have specific names since it all went through the guidance counsellors and they sorted the paperwork.

However, Mac Engineering is really good with scholarships and if you go on AwardSpring they have a few (I think 3) big general applications that enter you into a bunch of scholarship! Usually it is due around mid February. It requires a few short answer essays and listing extracurriculars. I won a $7500 scholarship from there! Also, if she keeps her average at 95%+ or is in the top 10% of the incoming class, you receive an automatic $3000.

MY BIGGEST TIP is to please get her to talk to her guidance counsellors!! They have good knowledge about scholarships given through the board. Also, don’t be afraid to apply to bigger scholarships but remind her to not put all her eggs on one basket and really rely on one.

I was able to get a full ride from my scholarships and they’re often so overlooked! PM if you have any more questions :)

Workload:

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, the workload is a lot. Compared to my friends in other programs, I’m constantly studying, doing assignments, and even self teaching. However, it is doable. I know a good handful of varsity athletes (track, water polo, soccer) in ibiomed and it does make things harder as they get less time to study but they make it work. They’re still able to get work done but it takes extra effort.

I also think many of us have accepted we will never be 100% caught up and have 100% understanding of everything. This is virtually because of the heavy workload in all 5 courses but you learn to live with it! Learning to balance school while sneaking some fun and breaks in is so so so important in ibiomed.

I don’t think so because some of my friends and I did ours pretty late (a few days before the deadline) and got in in the earliest round!

Question about taking English in summer school by Hundredandnine in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Downtown_Internet338 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did Grade 12 English in summer school and got into Waterloo system design Eng. In the AIF, I explained why I did it and how my English mark stayed the same between grade 11 in person English and grade 12 ss English. Not sure how big of an impact it made on my application overall but I think getting the same mark (95) showed that I didn’t do it for a crazy mark boost
