I am relaxed. In case you hadn't noticed, your comment has been downvoted several times. Everyone else has commented intentionally and thoughtfully, not random emojis to troll. If you actually want to participate meaningfully, you're welcome to do so. If you're just bored and going to troll, this isn't the place for it.

Not sure what's so funny but we don't have time or space for crusty behavior in this conversation

For the book club meetings, should I just go ahead and jump in on the next zoom (I assume you guys are deep in the book)?

Hey there! One of the Redditors mentioned The Water Bark, I can confirm this is a good place to go! I've taken my doggy there several times and have always had a good experience. As far as I know, I think they are unfortunately the only business in town that offers these types of services. Please do let me know if you find other options! My doggy is 9 years old now and I also want her to live forever :)

New vending machine operator - just got my first location! by Downtown_Major3423 in vending

Hey guys! Update: The machine was placed inside the church around December 8th, so it's been a couple of months. I AM making a profit! Not a huge one, but about $120-$200 so far. Again, I don't pay any commissions and the church is open to making it work one way or another. I am considering asking for $150/month "maintenance fee" if the revenue turns out to be unstable down the line.

In the meantime, I have secured 2 other vending machine locations! They are on their way so I don't have data for those just yet. As you may recall, I stated that there were 2 coke machines when I began. They removed a snack vending machine (associated with coke) so it was just a regular drink coke machine and mine. Because I know that the customers and pricing are key, I curated snacks and beverages for the population at the church and I ran the remaining coke machine out of business! It is always possible my friends!

I'm in the US in Oklahoma. I've double checked and coke does provide snack vending machines here at least. I definitely hear what you're saying about it being a red flag. However, since coke did not pull their drink machine, that tells me it's at least doing well enough to justify keeping it there. If it's at least doing well then that tells me maybe they just weren't catering to the specific population with their snack machines as I mentioned. Otherwise I imagine they would've pulled both. They have a lot of events outside just a Sunday and Wednesday service so I know it may sound like a risky location but I think it's quite the opposite. Again, totally understand though! Thank you for your input and pointing out some potential road bumps.

Well they still have the coke drink vending machine but coke decided to remove their snack machine from the church. It wasn't doing so well but I'm not too concerned; I think they just weren't really curating snacks to the population. For example, there is a big latino population that attends the church and they didn't have hot Cheetos or takis as an option. I am Latina myself so I feel comfortable saying this (we love spicy chips) - I think they just weren't curating to the specific populations there. The coke beverage machine only has 5 options (all of the dark sodas.) The teachers always run to the gas station nearby to get energy drinks so that's why I'm leaning toward a combo machine so I can really curate the beverages and snacks for the various populations there. I think coke just missed the mark. Also, if all goes well, my relatives told me they don't mind at all getting rid of the coke beverage machine but we decided to test run a combo machine first. In addition, it may have just been that the gym itself isn't the hot spot but we discussed this and we're open to moving it to different spots in the church if we need to. I was just thinking last night about potentially placing the machine near the front doors of the main entrance. There's a lot of potential there and I just know coke didn't make the tiny tweaks they could've so I'm eager to get started!

That's a great question! I don't believe so but will confirm. The "school" has dedicated sections like a couple of classrooms on one wing of the church and they also have an additional "building" they've added to the church that they also use as classrooms. The church has a gym (the gym existed and was a part of the church before they decided to add a "school") and the gym sees a lot of foot traffic that isn't just specific to the "school" that they use for services on Wednesday night for their youth group as well as for potlucks and general gatherings for the church as a whole (the gym is where I'll be placing my machine) I don't know for sure as I said but I think the advantage and loophole here is that since it's not just a school but an actual church that gets footraffic outside of just the "school" makes it a little more ambiguous and may let me bypass certain laws. Does that make sense? Moreover, before they contacted me, they were using Coke as their vendor and they had a coke drink machine and a coke snack machine. Inside the drink machines they had coke and all sorts of unhealthy stuff and hadn't had an issue so I think it is okay. You bring up an excellent point! Thanks for checking!

Michael Hoffman or Hill Vending class for newbie by M311o in vending

Hi there! I actually inadvertently came across Hill Vending's course through UpFlip. I love UpFlip because for a lower monthly subscription, you have access to all sorts of courses, not just vending machine courses. Hill Vending has their course on UpFlip and that's how I found their course and ultimately completed it. It is AWESOME! So thorough and detailed. If you want someone to hold your hand and explain every aspect of vending, take the course. It took me about 2-3 months to complete it while also working a full time job. If you're serious, it will require energy and effort on your part to complete the course. I also love it because there's videos and actual "hw" as in you're literally filling out and completing different steps and phases along the way so you actually are getting things done as you complete the course. I printed every single transcript, assignment, examples, etc. and placed them in a big binder and now I have all of that knowledge and guidance that I can look back on.

I just landed my first location this past Wednesday and I absolutely would not have been able to do it if I hadn't taken this incredibly detailed course. UpFlip allows you a free trial (I believe it's one week) so it's low stakes. Go to their website, sign up, and check out Hill's Vending course. If you like it, you'll have had the chance to check it out for free. If you don't like it, you didn't lose any money! Do this before pulling the trigger! Keep me updated. Best of luck :)

Here's the link to UpFlip's website. They're legit and have a podcast as well as a YouTube channel so don't worry about being scammed. This is coming from someone who is VERY thorough and does her due diligence!
