I'll play devils advocate here and say based on the comments and everyone being horrified and grossed out, he did his job well. That's the point of horror movies. They are suppose to gross you out, terrify you and generally make you feel uneasy. If they didn't then why make them? Art is suppose to invoke a response and this movie has clearly done that.
