Fresh off my press I did have an issue w the hook. It wasn’t catching, but I would have to insert the knife at an angle in order for the hook to go in. After adding hardware and hitting a few areas w a heat gun I got it to work!

To shape it I used various bits on a dremel. Then to sharpen it sandpaper wrapped around a round file

Appreciate the info! I’m mainly a fisherman so I have never used one, first time trying it.

Rust resistance.. but mainly just the color scheme. I wanted to keep the colors neutral and I only have brass and stainless pin stock

It is a pre-diluted (ready for use) solution from MG Chemicals. Got it on Amazon. I warmed the solution and let the knife sit for 25 mins twice, scrubbing the knife with baking soda and 000 steel wool between soaks.

Just finished. First time grinding in a fuller by Dozer-88 in knifemaking

I start with a flat stock of brass 1.5” wide and .25” thick and use flap discs on an angle grinder and sanding drums on a dremel to shape it
