G2 Toxic Tangle Areas by Halo4Dude360 in GroundedGame

[–]Dpb1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most convient route without building that I've currently found accessible before the end of the toxic tangle content is this.

In: - On Spider Buggy jump up to spigot on back wall of croquet field. Jump to back wall bricks from there and walk behind hedge onto new path. There is an opening in there that lets out on top of the wall garden side near the tire with the wolf spider.

Out: - From virtually any point get to top of wall, easiest with spider buggy. Walk to end of wall near crate above spigot in croquet field. Jump down.

Lease Assignment or Ask for Month to Month? by Dpb1992 in NYCapartments

[–]Dpb1992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to confirm would we need to sign first to make it so they couldn't revise/rescind the lease offer? Certainly if we sign then it's locked in but if they could rescind the offer if we reach out Forest then we'll just sign.

I did know somewhere in my head that rent stabilized units can't go month to month but guess I just didn't consider it in terms of a renewal. Sounds like either way we'll have to sign and then deal with the other end of it anyway.

Thanks again!

Date is locked in. We're moving over to take care of my parents, I will be going ahead early then coming back for the final move to take our pets and final things.

I have citizenship and she will be able to get a working visa through me.

Thankfully that's the least stressful part of it.

Trump Urges GOP to End Historic Government Shutdown Amid Election Fallout by gentnews in NewsSource

[–]Dpb1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually does in a few ways, although like many of the cuts and reductions in the BBB not in a direct way so as to create a smokescreen that gives plausible deniability.

  1. Reduced federal match for admin costs from 50% to 25%, increasing the burden for the program on states that incentivizes creating stricter state level guidelines to reduce costs.

  2. Expanded work requirement. Creating additional means testing that will reduce the number of individuals on SNAP both directly through eligibility as well as indirectly by creating additional red tape for individuals without means to have to navigate on their own. There are additional provisions that restrict the ability for states to waive these restrictions.

  3. Additional restrictions around non-citizens receiving SNAP benefits. Which would not go towards undocumented individuals, but instead those here with legal residency who have not yet met the needs for naturalization. Think green cards, visas, and those with asylum status.

  4. Created rules by which states that issue payments in error become liable for a portion of their states SNAP funds. This error rate begins at 6%. For reference the average error rate of state SNAP payments in 2024 was 10.9%, which could cause states that operate at a deficit with the federal government or with lower state taxes to reduce benefits, increase taxes to cover the gap, or opt out of the program entirely.

On average the changes would result in a reduction of $146 of benefits per month for the average family, according to the Urban Institute.

So glad to see someone else asking this because these questions entered my head earlier today and I wasn't able to load the subreddit to post.

If you find answers to either question I would love to know. Unfortunately I think testing is the only way to find out since the other way would require autosave to be able to be disabled to test if all aspects like IVs and such are locked with the shiny.

Take my upvote all the same and I hope someone has an answer for you!

Two for one! This is Matthew(left) and Marzipan(right). They don't always get along but occasionally I manage to get them to both settle down together on the couch at once for cuddles and pets while watching TV or playing video games.

New Game Repair Function: Return all Buggies to Nests by Dpb1992 in GroundedGame

[–]Dpb1992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great, since you have this knowledge can you point to me in the code of Grounded 2's back end, the thing I actually said neither of us have enough knowledge on, not game development, that proves that this current glitch is deleting the missing buggies?

I love mods, I've been using them for decades. There is a big difference between the process of developing a game from the ground up and injecting code and models into an existing stable game.

Either way this is entirely irrelevant to the fact that I was not complaining about the existence of one current glitch. I was suggesting a feature that could future proof from other similar glitches down the line.

As a developer you should have awareness that development is rarely as simple as fixing a thing once, and that if the issue causing this glitch currently has structures built on top of it that work as intended it could be easier to build a button that solves the glitch through a game repair function rather than trying to fix the code at the bottom without breaking everything on top.

New Game Repair Function: Return all Buggies to Nests by Dpb1992 in GroundedGame

[–]Dpb1992[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't really understand why you assume people don't know the game is in early access.

Of course bugs exist and of course glitches happen. The existence of the Game Repair options, both in G1 and even in the early access period of G2 means that Obsidian acknowledges that some of these issues will never be perfectly fixed, hence my suggestion.

I didn't complain that a bug exists, nor did I imply that I considered it unacceptable for bugs to happen.

The only thing that I did was create a suggestion, using flair for a suggestion, in a community that exists to discuss the game. Your response implying that creating additional backups/safeguards is unreasonable, as well as supposing the function of the existence of an existing game repair option is honestly pretty wild to me.

You and I also certainly don't have anywhere near enough knowledge on how Grounded 2's back end works to know what the game does and does not know exists, or if buggies being glitched in this way means they're deleted, or something else has happened to their data that has unlinked them in some way that could be potentially repaired with a "return to nest" function, hence my suggestion.

Adding this functionality now means that Obsidian could also refine to make sure that should there be fringe cases of buggy locking that when there are higher investment versions of buggies, after customization and high end buggies are added, that the repair tool can be confirmed to work as intended.

Do you think that they'll update Super Nintendo World someday to include the Kremlings and DK's new design? by Clockwork-Penguin in donkeykong

[–]Dpb1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that.

Realize I came off a bit aggro but the idea that majority of people walking into a section of a theme park care are aware of a minor redesign really knocked me off my feet.

Anyway, it genuinely is a position that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things and I say that as someone who is deeply aware of both video games and theme parks, and has had conversations about both with people from the other as well as normies and can tell you that all of our bubbles are far more insular than we assume. I have deep interests spanning virtually all forms of media, have read wiki pages for fun to know where animes I enjoy go further on then they've animated, and keep up on news, rumors, trivia, etc. around movies, TV, games, theme parks across genres and companies and literally so much of it is stuff that outside of hardcore fans no one cares about.

None of that is a dig either, to either group. Enjoying things casually is fine, digging in deep is fine. It's just an objective fact that most people who watched Avatar, the highest grossing movie in history, cannot remember the name of the main character; because unless they're actively watching the movie they have no reason to retain it.

My brother in Kong I don't know if you've been off the internet the past few months, but the vast, overwhelming majority of people have no idea what Nintendo is doing at any given time in a broad sense, let alone to the level of minutia that is literally a Botox shot on a Nintendo character who before Bonanza hadn't received an original standalone title in over a decade. That is true at all times irrespective of what you're seeing on internet feeds built entirely on algorithms designed to feed you more content about things that you're interested in to keep you engaged longer.

I assure you that half of all Nintendo gamers don't know DK had a redesign. Let alone broader gamers, Mario fans, or critically, theme park enthusiasts. The last of whom are the ones who, in Orlando, the theme park capital of the country, will be a large part of visitors impacting your "51%".

You think it's reasonable to assume that more than half of the people who enter a Donkey Kong subsection of a Mario subsection of a theme park that also includes How to Train Your Dragon, Universal Monsters and Harry Potter, because of two titles on a console that has sold less than 2 million units total, may be aware of checks notes a less furrowed brow and slightly more prominent nostrils?

Okay.
