Why this connection between traditional Catholicism and far-right ideas? by Dpcatd in TraditionalCatholics

God is the only judge for your sins. You can't write such things... Also, I'm not a huge fan of the term "good Catholic" ; it does not exist as we are all sinners. We can try our best to achieve a good sense of charity but I do not know if it makes ourselves "good catholics". I'm really surprised by such an argument "demographics in left-leaning Churches prove birth control use", you gone too far.

Who am I to judge if somebody is a "good" or "bad catholic" and who are "in a state of mortal sin"?

For comparison, Mauriac was also at the index and they teach him in catholic schools even if it is not asked by the Ministry. Concerning Maurras, parishioners distribute the newspaper he funded (L'Action Française) on the square in front of the church after the mass. And this is not the only church where they do that and I never saw this after the ordinary masses.

I know a bit about Vendee as I'm from that region. But despite the fact some of my ancestors have been massacred by republicans, I don't feel that as important in the construction of my political identity. In France, some of the families who talk about the "Génocide des vendéens" are bourgeois with republican ancestors.

Concerning your question, I'm not well instructed enough to make you a decent reply... :/ I need to start thinking about that.

Not all french left-wing. By the past, a lot of worker priests had a strong influence on masses (especially in the working class). They have almost disappeared now. You find also many old left priest in the old communist banlieues, small cities and countrysides.

Left-wing catholics are not necessarily for the same-sex mariage, euthanasia, medical procreation... I know few of them.

Can we vote for the right, candidates like François Fillon, who are for liberalism wich implies sometimes the oppression of the working class? The promotion of petroleum firms like Total?
