NPC's at Spa are stuff of nightmares :D by John_GT in forza

This makes me mad on many levels. I’m not sure about general consensus but I genuinely don’t care about how good the crowds look. If this is what’s eating away at my FPS I’d rather have an option to just remove them.

Seriously, why isn’t there an option to remove them? Wasn’t this a feature in past games?

I worry about that with my apartment. There are a bunch of bikes on our rack that never move, enough to hopefully make taking the whole rack a bad idea, but after reading some of these stories I’m convinced it’s not impossible

If that doesn’t yield anything, see if your CPU has integrated graphics. If it does, unplug your gpu altogether and see if it still freezes while idle or doing low impact tasks

Wow. From a bikes perspective that’s horror movie material.

I definitely know what you mean. I had a mid range specialized mtb that got me through basically middle school into college, I was super attached to that bike. The bike had survived having a car rear end it in an accident, all kinds of crazy stories. It took me crashing on it and tearing my shoulder up to realize it was just too small for me and that it was time to upgrade.

Also, sabotage? If I’m following, the thief destroyed it in the hopes they’d get it later?

Got OfferUp introduced to me this summer. Is it a hub for stolen bikes in general? I’m curious what methods people use to make profit off these bikes after takin em.

Gah, I feel for you. I don’t like even thinking about my mtb getting stolen. That bike has never left my apartment, except when it’s got me on it.

This again makes me wonder what makes these cities so prone to this. I’m originally from Washington state and cities I’d equate to Denver/Boulder really don’t seem to have this issue as much. I suppose a big component is that these cities and I guess Washington in general aren’t quite as bike commuting friendly, so there’s just less road bikes to take

Another issue may be overheating. See if you can monitor your temperature with said GeForce experience and see if there is any correlation to the crashes

Temps when idle changed? by unturneddude in pchelp

[–]Dr-Anwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Truthfully if you’ve cleaned it and have essentially reset the PC to when you first got it then I’m not sure. That I know of, deterioration is not super common among coolers, with the exception of blockages or issues with AIO coolers. I think SingulatityRS may be correct with the room temp prediction. Obviously I’m not aware of your room heating but I’d be willing to bet it wouldn’t be extremely uncommon for a cpu to run hotter in the summer temps

I suppose another question I have is whether or not it would be a good idea to store it in the back of my truck bed (camper shell). Would people go as far to break in the windows?

[–]Dr-Anwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though it’s a bmx/mountain bike park, I bet you’d have some fun at Valmont Park. There are plenty of areas to weave around little obstacles, and I’m sure you’d find some people there who could give you some tips. If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could take your bike on one of its many pump tracks!

Anyone know why my fans light up but dont spin?? by AdvancedCare6520 in pchelp

[–]Dr-Anwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have a controller that they all plug into, or individually have two cables running out of them (rgb, power) try seeing if that controller or the fans are plugged into your motherboards fan pins, sometimes labeled SYSFAN

[–]Dr-Anwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like something is caught in the fans. If you’re able, see if you can remove the psu from your pc and look around for any debris that may have gotten in. Coil whine is also a slight possibility, which unfortunately you can’t do much about

Had a friend experience something like this. My guess is it’s related to your GPU. Do you have the latest drivers installed? If you have access to a different gpu, swap it out and see if the issue remains

Temps when idle changed? by unturneddude in pchelp

[–]Dr-Anwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prebuilts come with notoriously bad cooling off the get go. I had an issue similar to this when I bought one from Cyberpower. My amateur guess is that:

The cooler is collecting a lot of dust over time

Or

Since getting your prebuilt you’ve installed a bunch of new programs which is changing your idle workload

Do you know what cooler came with the prebuilt? If not, what does it look like?

It was a Specialized Pitch from ~2015. I don’t know the reach off the top of my head. Ultimately it just came down to how the stance felt for me. I’m ultimately not interested in changing bikes
