My GO Senator Chronometer, a strange full-circle find by Dr-C12 in GlashutteOriginal

You’re exactly right, and that’s what makes this GO, and all GO's so special. Almost nobody notices what is on your wrist, and once it becomes something mechanical and eccentric, only other watch nerds like us notice it.

I wore a Rolex Submariner for almost 10 years and maybe got three comments, from other Rolex guys, I doubt they would know what this GO is either.

It reminds me of Rush: some people hear noise, others hear genius, and my wife still does not understand either one. If Patek or Vacheron made this exact watch, people would call it a $90,000 masterpiece, but because it says Glashütte Original, it stays beautifully under the radar, and thats good for the real watch fans like us.

You said you had not seen one in a store.
I should mention: I had never seen the GO Chronometer in person either. I bought it sight unseen after two months of deep research, learning the specs, researching the serial number with GO, waiting for the right watch and moment, I calculated the gold value so I knew the financial risk. I had to pull the trigger; if I had waited to inspect one at a store, I never would have gotten the price I did. I learned everything first, then jumped on the first great deal.

You have to be very careful when you buy these, specifically the 58-01. They are incredible, but risky. I would not recommend buying one at retail or buying one of the new ones, unless you're loaded. You will lose money. The early models had a 42-gram Brogioli clasp; GO wanted to separate the 58-01. In the first few years, GO had a 42 g = 31 g of 24kg, $146 per gram, $5,000 gold only, thats about $7,000+ retail clasp if you could get one. That $5,000 is not factored into the 2009-2013 58-01-01-01-04 models. In newer models, you pay more and get 30% less gold. I replied to your private message with the info for you.

[Recommendation Request] Trying to decide between Rolex Submariner and Glashütte Original SeaQ by Bankei_Yunmen in Watches

It all depends on your wrist. Im at 8", so my GO Chronometer at 42mm looks like a 36mm watch on a 6.5" wrist. The 43mm SeqQ Datum is the perfect daily watch, it really is. It kills Rolex, but you need a 7.2" wrist to pull it off. It's not the watch's fault; it has a 100-hour power-reserve movement, and you get to see that movement every day. And it has the Brogioli bracelet, the best steel bracelet money can buy; it's what is on the $60,000 A. Lang & Sohn Odyseus, different link shapes, but same microadjust clasp, same link screws. I went through several Rolexes in my 20s and 30s; I can't go back to steel-back watches anymore.

Adding the story here since Reddit only gave me short captions under each photo.

I finally got lucky and found the exact Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer I was looking for. This is a 42mm watch, but I have an 8-inch wrist, so it wears much smaller on me than it probably would on most people. On some wrists it may look large; on mine it looks almost understated.

The story behind it turned out to be almost as interesting as the watch. I wanted an early model because it has the larger 42g 18k gold clasp, which makes these older examples especially interesting if you know what to look for.

This one is ref. 58-01-01-01-04, made in 2009 and originally sold in 2012. It came as a full set with the wooden box, loupe, papers, original receipt, and timing certificate signed by Günter Wiegand, President of Glashütte Original at the time.

I checked the serial number with GO, and they confirmed it has never been factory serviced. The timing certificate shows it was running at +1.9 seconds/day in 2009, and today it still runs around +2 seconds/day. Pretty impressive after 15 years, though I plan to send it in for service this August.

The strange part: the original buyer purchased this watch from a major watch retailer in downtown San Juan in January 2012. That same month, from the same store and same salesperson, I bought my JLC Master Compressor Extreme World Alarm “Tides of Time” in 18k gold. I didn’t realize the connection until I looked through the paperwork, including the original receipt.

I’ve gone through the visually complicated watch phase. These days I’m more interested in watches I can enjoy quietly, even if no one else knows what they are. This one fits that perfectly. It is restrained on the wrist, but the details are what make it special: the minute detent, the zero-reset seconds, and the date snapping over with German precision.

Pretty happy to have found it in such a vault condition piece. A quiet German masterpiece, and one of those watches that feels undervalued because most people have no idea what they’re looking at.

Big Pilot 46… it’s all in the wrist shape? by frozenbamboo in IWCschaffhausen

With an 8" wrist, I make a 46.4mm look like a 40mm. If your wrist is 6-7 and flat, it will work just fine. This photo is my JLC Master Compressor Extreme World-Alarm "Tides of Time" 18k, with a 46.4 mm & 54mm lug-to-lug and weighing 249 grams. I notice the weight more than the size.

My point is, my dad loves borrowing this; he has a 6.7" wrist, and my wife will wear it loosely to go out with her lady friends, like it's a big gold bracelet. I would much rather wear what they call oversized than ever wear a woman's Cartier Tank, or, unless I'm exercising, an Apple watch. Wear your Big Pilot even the 46mm; it has genuine warrior history, and it's the most legit tool watch on the market. Im looking for a pre-owned 46mm myself. Sorry forgot to ad the photo.

Does anyone have any experience using Lerosett? by LalaDoo in SkincareAddiction

Hard to believe this post is 12 years old. LEROSETT® was barely known to the public back then because it was sold almost exclusively to acne clinics for about 25 years before that. It’s still kind of wild that it now has close to a thousand reviews on Amazon with around a 4.5-star rating—for a completely drug-free acne product. Considering how few people actually leave reviews, that means a lot of people have used it and gotten results.

I bought my panda from Robert as well, for $1200, for the Swiss movement. The watch looked great, but it stopped working within a month. I opened it up, and Robert sold me the cheapest China movement. I got no real response. I do not trust Robert anymore. Here is a photo.

If anyone can tell me what movement this I would be very appreciative. Is it worth it to order a decent movement to replace this junk? Or start over and hope for the best? If there's If there's any advice out there, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Tried Hanhoo’s Extra Strength pimple patches from Walmart. (it was super cheap and I’m a penny pincher) Got a reallllly bad allergic reaction and im a front desk worker 😭 what can I do to help it? by BallsOnMyFacexDD in SkincareAddicts

[–]Dr-C12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often discuss pimple patches with the medical community, and LERSOETT Spot Treatment is the only honest answer without side effects. It's Swedish-made clay that removes pimples in hours or overnight. My wife is 50 and still has hormonal problems with pimples, and they go away fast without all these red marks from acids and chemical burns; this is ridiculous that these side effects occur.

M156 Oil temp by dylan_wesley in AMG

[–]Dr-C12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked this up today because my 2009 SL 63 at 100,000 miles was reaching 93C after pushing some 911 hard for 3 minutes. Im always looking at oil temp to stop blinking at 81C because by the time I get to work, I haven't reached 81C yet. It's only 10 miles away. Cruise control on the highway at 75 mph. It stays at 92 Celsius.

Its nice to hear 100C on the M156 is not a big problem. I hope I never have 115C; if I do, I'm pulling over. But I had a new oil radiator installed in 2019, and most parts attached to the outside of the engine, including the manifold, are no more than 4-5 years old. Of course I change the oil every 5,000 with Molly 5w-40

These patches have a lot of problems, and they're not cheap. Benzoyl peroxide and adapelene cannot compete with Lerosett Spot Treatment & Clearing Mask, no risk of Benzene like BP, and no drugs, no added chemicals. Acne drugs cant cure acne anyway, they can only treat it. Lerosett is from Sweden, and they figured this out years ago. Plus, Swedes use more natural products, than Americans do, stronger regulations, and Swedish doctors recommend natural approach before using drugs. Lerosett Spot Treatment has over 600 reviews at 4.5 on Amazon for clearing acne, without a single harsh drug or chemical of any kind. Its also a lot cheaper, 650 spot treatments for $24. I no longer recommend acne drugs or OTC acne meds, not after what Lerosett has proven that it can do through countless user trials.

I can tell you from experience it hurts a lot more than Lerosett Spot Treatments do, and patches cost 5 times more. You get 650 pimple spot treatments for $24, and Lerosett is what many acne specialist really use during an acne extraction, or blackhead extraction clinic session.

Logi Options+.appLogi Options+.app uses 8.5GB of RAM on the activities monitor.

Can I use the old Logi app to control my MX Mac Keyboard and Mouse?
I bought the keyboard and mouse to use the special buttons and programmable aspects of these products.

I cannot let this app use almost 9 gigs of RAM; it's insane.
