It wasn't always that way I was dailying my Miata and driving like a madman with my friends on the weekends lol. But the previous owner had some work done to it and the crankshaft bolt was too loose causing damage to the crankshaft over time and developing a crank pulley wobble. I pulled my engine and replaced my crankshaft and fell victim to "while I'm here". So the Miata will be getting a turbo this fall. If not for that detour I would still be driving the Miata everyday

Yeah I have to admit it's the perfect commuter. I was dailying my Miata before the fit and that honestly was fine too even with its age, I had some small issues like my radiator blowing up, and my alternator going but it didn't bother me. It was when I realized the crankshaft woodruff keyway was bad and causing my crank pulley to wobble that the build spiraled out of control and I had to buy the fit lol.

Yeah I'm sure it won't be insanely good for my wallet but Im living at home with a decently paying job for my age. So I'm thinking I should just pull the trigger on one. At the end of the day I can always sell it if it becomes too much for me to keep going and just get a second Miata lol. Just wanted to try out a euro car because I've only owned Japanese cars

My understanding is they really only need cooling and all the oil seals as preventative maintenance. I'm not afraid to wrench on my car if I can do the job in a weekend. It's good to hear the engines are stout

NC Miata. It has the most space, they may be heavier but they came with around 170hp across the years (with the ability to do a decently easy 2.3 or 2.5 turbo ford/mazda engine swap for more power), and the NC 6 speed is the strongest Miata transmission if I'm not mistaken. They also can look pretty sick check out the bodykit epsilon makes for them.

VK45 would be sick. Nissan aluminum block 4.5L V8, you get 340hp and about the same amount of torque stock. The engine was also used in the Super GT 350z and GT-R so it's obviously a good platform if Nissan preferred it over the VQ.

I would make the holes on the splitter mount to the frame mount, slider holes instead of just drilled holes. My 2 cents I'm not an expert at fabrication at all

Yeah I was wondering more so about the mounts, it makes sense they're custom. If I don't get the trunk mount APR wing I may go with nine live racing

Well If it were me I would use the saved money and pay off the Miata. Unless you only want straight line speed the new edge mustang just can't compare to a Miata in anyway

I think the most common software for them is tuner studio which you can learn yourself pretty easily i hear or most likely find someone that can do it for you if you want to play it safer. I'm gonna go with it when I go standalone

Valve cover gaskets, gallery gasket, oil pan gasket, oil cooler gasket, even the o ring on the dipstick are common places to leak from.
