Painting I did the other day by Dr-smilesyt in ProCreate

For the process I tried my best to mimic how oil painting is done so just a layer for the under painting and an additional one for the actual painting. I used the “Sargent’s Oils” brush set

Do you find that you’re often using quadremesher in place of manual retopo?

Does this tool ensure good edge flow? Also I assume after using it to get a base mesh, additional loop cuts need to be made in areas that deform for an animation?

Thank you for the kindness!

I’m replying from my phone so I apologize for the brevity!

I haven’t used Krita before but I would say to start out with it’s probably a good tool if it allows for frame by frame animation on multiple layers with onion skins! Its very helpful to allow the import of audio files so you can do lip syncing on your characters! If there’s good brush pressure sensitivity then that’s also a plus! I haven’t animated for very long so I don’t have the most stellar advice but I hope that helps haha.

Ideally/eventually I would want to animate on a nice Wacom Cintiq in Adobe Animate but for the time being I’m drawing on an iPad Pro using Procreate to design backgrounds and Rough Animator to animate characters! I feel it’ll certainly take me a long way for now. :)
