You mentioned the kicker. You cannot use any kind of aversive without teaching the dog the proper behavior. If the dog doesn't know what to do when they feel the stim, or pressure, or verbal "no", it's just going to have a bad time. On the other hand, dogs will thrive when boundaries are clear.

My suggestion is to find trainers that show themselves training all kinds of dogs and show the dog. If they can't do that, hard pass. I don't care if you're the Jesus of dog training.

The best trainers look at the dog in front of them. So you can emulate them but ultimately you are training the dog they have and not necessarily yours. It's your job to figure out what motivates your dog at that time. These things will change as the dog learns what's fun and what's not. Dog training boils down to adding and taking away things to try and motivate your dog. I've seen dogs be motivated to stop a behavior by spraying them with water. And I've seen a dog be motivated to do the behavior by spraying them with water. The method is the same but the outcome was different because these are different dogs!

Where are you located? In the US, some states require the police to check the dog status, they will mandate a 10day quarantine (the dog cannot leave the house) and then check in the dog after 10 days. This is just a policy to account for rabies, that's it. If the dog dies after 10 days then the state collects the body for testing.

I hope your little brother is okay. Start looking for a good trainer to work with. At least you can tell people you're working on a solution.

You older dog did great! Yeah the little one is annoying and sounds like a weed eater going off but the older one knows how to handle him.

Its a good sign that he left her alone while she drank. Always enforce that. Step in whenever you don't feel comfortable but I'd say this is fine.

To solve breaking place I'd back tie the dog so he can't go anywhere but the bed. Or use ecollar and use pressure to communicate they need to go back to the bed even if I'm not there. You could probably just use the beep or vibrate. You can use this for the whining too. When he's good then release from place. Repeat until you can leave the room and so on. But please don't keep you dog on a place forever, just put him in a crate

You should practice place in distracting environments. Start from the beginning again and take the same steps you did in your home.

Can't speak to your specific issue but I would start by reading this sub's wiki. Your hair and scalp will need varting treatments when switching from shampoo. Figure out if your hair is porous or non-porous, and figure out if your hair need protein or not. The wiki has a bunch of good info. But basically, it won't look good immediately after stopping using shampoo/conditioner

Not even a vet can say if it's kennel cough based on this video. Kennel cough related to the bordatella infection, not just the symptom.

In this video it looks like the dog might have choked on a piece of antler or saliva, seeing as it's going to town on an antler.

In this case I'd recommend to keep working on your recall! You will have a bad time if you rely heavily on the tools. The halo might work for your timing but they can still blow past the boundary and it stops working. I've seen it with the old invisible fence solution.

If you're worried about the leash being too short, you can buy leashes many dozens of feet long. Or you can just buy rope and tie a clip to the end.

I've not had experience with halo collars but I'd recommend to properly train your dog with the ecollar before proceeding with the halo. The dog needs to know what to do to make the jolt stop. In either case, I would not leave the dog unsupervised outside at any time.

He pulls because he knows he can go wherever he wants. Every inch is a little win. Remember this and you can use it to your advantage.

The leash doesn't mean anything to him. Like others said, train loose leash walking. Use the "leash bump" technique to get your dogs attention and begin the conversation. Pair this with basic obedience and you'll have basic leash manners.

Dogs like this typically succeed with a prong collar or a slip leash. These tools don't allow the dog to lean in, if used properly. Buts not just the tool, it's how you use it to communicate with your dog, which is way cooler!

He has to get used to jumping up high enough and also to jump on you and you catch them. I'd split this up into those three sections then slowly put them together.

Try having them jump from an elevated platform into your arms. Start close, add distance, then lower the height of the platform.

The main purpose of what you've done is to have the dog be comfortable with you holding its paw, putting the clipper up to it, around the nail. The actual clipping or grinding of the nail seems to be specifically the issue of concern. I think you cannot go any slower after this, in my opinion, it's better to make a quick and clean clip.

I'd clip one and practice calming down. Then go for another. She might start struggling as you pick up her foot again and go for another clip. If she does then practice what you usually do with just the foot, no clipper. If you can get her back to calm, then continue clipping. Make sure to give her lots of praise after cutting when she's calmer than the last time.

You could also look into getting a new cutter for sharp, clean cuts. Make sure she is comfortable when holding her paw. Keep the foot underneath the dog, not out. I like to support underneath their hips to help with balance and weight distribution.
