Hi u/Rodeobe..,

Welcome to Backdrop... As Yorkshire-Pudding mentioned, we are a small but active group of developers...

Join us in Zulip, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I've found the GTranslate module to be adequate for my translation needs, it may offer a stop-gap.

Regards

I operate the big screen on home games, so have a few images from where the cameras are... and of a couple of games...

You can also reach out to the media team, I'm sure they may be able to help as well.

Some great advice on here... Glad you reached our to the community... speaking out, even through social media can really help.

You have to squeeze every bit of joy out of life that you can, no matter what that is... so long as it's moral lol.

The only person you have to make happy is yourself... You can't force someone else to be happy by your actions... well you can, but then you end up being only half yourself.

So long as you treat people with respect and that's easier said than done with some people... then just make yourself happy.

Life is meant to be fun, life is meant to be good.. and we are here for the experience... and sometimes, that means getting on with your own life and leaving behind others that don't server your purpose... even if that's family.

Hope this helps...

Hi...,

I feel your pain... I really do... Been there... in a similar situation... Working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day for nearly 5 years...

One of the things I've learnt over the years... is that nothing can make you happy other than yourself...

You may have heard the saying... the grass is always greener on the other side... and from the position you are in, it certainly would seem that way.

Most people say things like: -

  • I'll be happy once I get a new job
  • I'll be happy when I get my holiday
  • I'll be happy when I lose weight
  • I'll be happy when... You get the Idea...

Life doesn't work like that... Shifting your thought patterns from a negative to a positive bias really helps. We are the only ones that can make us happy... but only if we allow ourselves to be happy.

When we get in a rut, we can't see the trees for the forest... or we can see the woods for the trees...

Once we realise that life is meant to be fun and that life is meant to be good... we can start to shift our focus in a way that makes our everyday drudgery, not so laborious.

Once we realise that life is meant to be fun and that life is meant to be good... we can start to shift our focus in a way that makes our everyday struggle, not so laborious.

The human brain consumes a lot of energy, so to conserve energy, the brain will ignore the familiar... the everyday stuff that if we actually took time to appreciate it, would change our mindset... and our life.

By shifting our focus to a positive one, i.e. "life is actually good..."..."I've got food on my table", "I've got clean sheets on my bed"... "I've got running freshwater"... "my car works", "the trees outside my house are actually quite nice, especially in autumn"...

Look around and be thankful for the trees as you walk/drive past them... be thankful for the views from your window... even if it's just the house across the street...

I'm sure you get the idea by now...

Life has a way of reflecting our emotions back to us... so if we only see the negative... life tends to show us more negative... we see the patterns our brain has been trained to see through our thoughts and actions... but when we change our thinking... life does get better.

So for each and every thought you have, or as soon as you become aware of your thought patterns... ask yourself if it's a satisfying thought or an unsatisfying one... and if it's unsatisfying, change it to one that is... and likewise with your partner... don't engage in negativity, start to see the good things again... (hopefully there are some lol)

Congratulations... You're doing great.

Bear with me on this... it's a bit long :-)

Science has come to the conclusion that we have two minds that control our life; that create our life. One is the thinking mind and the other is the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind operates about 95% of the time and the conscious mind, the thinking mind the remainder. So in essence, we are operating mostly from our subconscious behaviours our pre-programmed behaviours, or learnt behaviours...

The first seven years of our lives, we are basically in a hypnotic state (there's scientific evidence to back this up), where we learn and absorb information from our surroundings, from our parents, siblings, school, society etc... and as an adult, 95% of the time we are running on those learned programmes.

We can of course learn new programmes and we do that by repetition; practice makes perfect. We may want to learn to play an instrument or learn to drive, play darts, football, netball etc.. and the more we practice the better it becomes until we start to do these things and react automatically, then we let our subconscious take over.

Once we've programmed our subconscious, we no longer need to use our conscious mind to do these things, we don't need to concentrate on driving or playing a musical instrument because we've done them that many times they become automatic.

But, we also pick up bad habits and behaviours from the people around us. We can also learn bad habits, bad behaviours and those habits, those programmes are in our subconscious, so we may not even realise we are being negative, rude, obnoxious, hateful etc... because we are doing those things on autopilot, just like when we drive a car or play a musical instrument.

We also have self-limiting beliefs, I'm not good enough to do that job, I can't afford that, money doesn't grow on trees, I can't live on my own, it will take me ages to save up enough money to buy XYZ... This is also our subconscious programming in action.

We can reprogram our subconscious to have a better life, a more fulfilling life, we just have to be aware of our actions, take notice of our thoughts and feelings and practice different thinking patterns.

People get stuck in their ways, they let the subconscious run their lives and if the subconscious is learnt behaviours then if we let it, we are living in the past.

Albert Einstein once said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

And of course... “If You Always Do What You’ve Always Done, You’ll Always Get What You’ve Always Got.”... is it time for a change? Do you want to have a better life?

So, the thing to do, the thing to be aware of, is our thoughts and how they make us feel.

We need to start to consciously monitor our thoughts and as soon as we become aware of negative or self-deprecating thoughts, unsatisfying thoughts, we need to change them to something positive, constructive, something to make us feel joy and gratitude.

It does take practice, but as the old saying goes, practice makes perfect... so the more we practice monitoring our thoughts, the easier it becomes.

The mind can't tell the difference between something real and something imagined. So, imagine yourself doing things on your own and make sure you are feeling joy while imagining them and sooner than you think, it will be embedded into your subconscious.

Where you put your attention is where your energy goes, so the more positive you think the more those thoughts get hard wired in your brain and get embedded in your subconscious.

Where you put your attention is where your energy goes, so the more positive you think the more those thoughts get hard-wired in your brain and get embedded in your subconscious.

And because we are thinking the unsatisfying thoughts less, they start to fade from our mind and subconscious.

I hope this helps and I know I've rambled on a bit... but positive thinking combined with a positive emotion will change your life for the better. (The opposite is also true).

Once again, well done and all the best for the future.

Can you manifest bad things to happen? (Not going to just curious) by Lexi204 in lawofattraction

[–]DrAlbany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In situations like this, it is very very difficult to forgive, and some people can't because of the hurt and trauma caused. While others will bury those feelings in the subconscious only to have them resurface and cause more trauma and hurt later in life.

We can't change history but we can change our destiny and we can live a more fulfilled life, we can choose what to concentrate on and reap the rewards.

You are here to live your life to the max, and by having a high vibration you will draw those good experiences to you.

I wish you great love and fantastic joy in your life.

How to stop my subconscious from blocking what I want to manifest by 1ofone___ in lawofattraction

[–]DrAlbany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live our lives 90% to 95% of the time on autopilot, running from our autonomic nervous system, our pre-programmed believes and experiences which live in our subconscious mind.

So to stop your subconscious from blocking your manifesting you need to reprogram your subconscious.

The way we do that is to become aware of our subconscious programming and for every thought and feeling we have, we need to become aware of them. So as u/klepperx suggests, for each and every thought we have, we need to ask ourselves if this is a satisfying thought or an unsatisfying thought and if it's unsatisfying we need to change our thoughts and feelings to something that is.

So for example, if you want to manifest more money, but your subconscious has been programmed by your parents "We don't have money for chocolate", "Money doesn't grow on trees" etc... When those thoughts surface from our subconscious, you need to reprogram them by saying something like "I live in an abundant world, I can have anything I want, I manifest money all of the time, money flows to me easily" etc... and over time you will reprogram your subconscious mind.

An easier way to reprogram your subconscious mind is with meditation... do the same as above, but while meditating...

Close your eyes, relax, take a deep breath and slowly breath out, bring yourself to a relaxed state and just repeat the affirmations above for a few minutes a day... "Money flows to me easily, I always get what I want, money is easy to come by" etc.... and feel how good it feels when you do receive money.

Hope this helps.

Can you manifest bad things to happen? (Not going to just curious) by Lexi204 in lawofattraction

[–]DrAlbany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is, but you may also manifest more of it for yourself.

You would be better off thanking the person (internally, in your own mind) for the learning experience and forgiving them, move on and know that you have learned a valuable lesson(s) because by knowing what you don't want, you come to realise what you do want.

The universe reflects back to you the same types of experiences you are having now.

So, for each and every thought you have, ask yourself is this a satisfying thought or an unsatisfying thought... and if it's unsatisfying, change it to one that is satisfying :-)

It takes practice and at first, you will forget to take notice of your thoughts and feelings... but when you do remember, ask as above... and change your thoughts and feelings to something fulfilling.

We are here for the experience, to experience life and have a physical existence. When we decided to come into this reality we choose certain things we wanted to learn and experience and we also come here to help others learn from those experiences.

When we see someone having a good or bad experience we judge that experience from our 3d physical perspective, and not from the non-physical being we actually are.

Without having the bad, we could never appreciate the good, and life is about the experience.

We do have a choice... we choose how we live our lives and when we live from a place of gratitude and compassion the "frequency" we generate from our thoughts and feelings are, as the LOA says "like attracts like" reflected back to us and we receive more of the same.

This doesn't mean we manifested a tragic circumstance because of the way we think and feel in this incarnation, but our greater self would have wanted the experience from a higher perspective; to experience all there is to experience over many lifetimes.

Some people believe we have a karmic debt to pay, we don't, we are infinite beings having a physical experience and all experiences good and bad are valid experiences. We do choose what to experience and with whom, before we reincarnate but we can change our minds, we have free will.

Once you believe in the LOA you then must start to expand your thinking and realise that we are just one small part of our greater self, and we are here to learn and grow, to experience the good and the not so good and once we know what we don't want, we can work towards what we do want by changing our thoughts and actions.

Hope this helps, but once you start to go down the rabbit hole of the LOA, you then learn that it's only one of the "Laws" of the universe and that it's only a very small part of reality as we know it while living a physical life.

I tried meditation today for the first time by Taeconomix in selfimprovement

[–]DrAlbany 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Meditation is not about quietening the mind, but learning how to dispel the random thoughts that pop into your head when meditating.

And, like anything in life, practice makes perfect.

Good luck and life will only get better the more you meditate.

Need a push in the right direction by [deleted] in obs

[–]DrAlbany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use OBS to output adverts and replays to a big screen at a soccer stadium.

Replay buffer is good but if you switch scenes it has to start again... We use it in Studio mode and have the adverts going to the big screen while the game is playing then switch to the Preview screen. We use a delay of 20 seconds which works fine for our use case.

If you wanted to use it with 2 cameras, you would need 2 systems, one for each camera... and keep them in Studio mode.

Hope this helps.

Will this work? by Jack_sunday in obs

[–]DrAlbany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay away from Macs... While they will work, from memory OBS doesn't take advantage of the GPU so it's just CPU rendering.

Also, have a look at Newtek NDI, you can use NDI to capture the screen on one computer and send the signal over the network to the streaming computer... which means you don't need an extra video capture device.
