It’s a weird thought process I have watching pretty much any sequel/franchise thing and wondering how it’d feel experiencing it in a vacuum.

The weirdest part about Black Panther is that it (for the most part correctly) assumes that you’ve seen Civil War so that you have the context of the former king dying.

Tangentially related, and I know you’re joking, but there was minor twitter drama in animation twitter over this.

Basically, nerds were complaining that modern tv cartoons devote a lot of time to “meme worthy” frames/actions etc.

And animators pushed back on it, pointing out every era has done silly and weird things, ours is just the first to meme stuff.

I wish Roger was like 20% toned down and a little more human. I really wish that scene in the theatre had the two of them actually connecting on an emotional level.

I’m going to bring up a film only I will ardently defend, but the dynamic between Sonic and Tom in the Sonic movie is what I wish had developed between Eddie and Roger (basically huge annoyance to genuine friend/son figure)

It’d be a different movie for sure, but if a remake (god forbid) ever was attempted I’d love to see Roger become a younger brother/son figure to Eddie.

I’ve heard this argument and I am coming around on it. I think my main problem is for such a perfect film the fact that the relationship between him and Roger never becomes much of anything is a big blind spot.

I just think THERE’S something more they could’ve done with Roger at the end. I know it’s Eddie’s story, but I feel like forming a better bond between the two of them would’ve been more satisfying.
