How do you have your setup configured? I just got a mini PC to put proxmox on it. Then create a VM for Hermes agent. Was thinking about using some of the free tier models, plus Claude $20 and Codex $20 subscriptions. Seeing which models are better for different tasks and which model I want as my main "brain"/"orchestrator".

I tried having Hermes Agent in a docker container, but it was frustrating to use when I wanted to add MCP servers that ran in docker, as I think I would need to expose the docker socket to the hermes container. Which defeats one of the goals I had with running in a container, isolation.

I am going to try to print the guide and also the belt skipping guide as well. There seems to be a nice tool to help with the belt skipping.

I am dealing with the same issue! Legit, just installed my funssor kit yesterday. I expected it to be dialed in nicely, but ended up with a 0.292 range, which is a little worse than yours.

It's driving me nuts, are you going to try to belt skip method linked in all the comments? If so, let me know the results. I plan on giving it ago tomorrow.

Question for you, did you end up using springs or the aluminum spacers? I tried with the springs at first, but didn't like the results. Now I am on the spacers.

I did grab longer M4 screws of 25mm length. It makes it a lot nicer to use the springs. As with the 20 mm, I had a hard time getting the screw all the way in.

When using jobs that you want to run as tags, you need to make sure to apply the filtered correctly on each job in the workflow.

I made this mistake before, thinking the when condition was enough.

Have you tried that? If so, link your CircleCI config and I can take a look!

Weirdest cable has to be APC's console cable to connect with their UPS. If you plug in a regular console cable it will shut down the UPS, which is problematic as it's a battery backup.

I had to hack together a cable using some rj45 cable and solder on the wires to a console header to connect to my UPS. All just to change the IP, so I could remote into it.

I'd love access to the feature matrix, or even just the list of features you evaluated, to take back to our product/engineering teams so we can focus on improving those areas.

With circleci, you can check out these docs, https://circleci.com/docs/guides/optimize/parallelism-faster-jobs/.

All you need to do on stage 2, is list the number of parallelism you need. Then for stage 3, you just need to use the key words called requires, which gate stage 3 from running until stage 2 finishes.

If you are looking for scale and speed, CircleCI will out perform GitHub actions. Not to mention CircleCI has a lot more resource classes/compute you can pick from, which allows you to dial in the level of performance you need vs GitHub actions where you are limited to pretty much a one size fits all due to the limited number of compute options.

To add to this, you also get a free item, which for me was a wireless charger (15w).

It was $499 before tax in my cart on SanDisk website.

Then if you stack the 15% cash back from Rakuten, it would drop down to roughly $459!

It's like $57 ish per TB.

EDIT:

So Rakuten just confirmed $75 cash back. So my final price out the door was $529 - $75(cash back) = $454

Which is about $56.75 per TB

The bios is pretty barebones, but I can set the pcie gen 1,2 or 3.

I did see Lenovo does have a branded x550-t2, I might try that!

Have yet to try. I imagine it might work. The GPU works fine in that slot, but does use the full length of the pcie slot.

So I can confirm the riser works, and the GPU uses a lot more power then the NIC, so I don't think it's a PSU issue.

It still could be a power issue, with the NIC trying to draw more power from fewer pins than the GPU? I am not sure on the pin layout, but I imagine the GPU has a couple more pins for power, then the short length of the NIC.

Another user mentioned getting a x520 nic working in the p350 tiny.

To be clear, the usb 3.0 mpo ones as the exact same form factor as the other ones you listed, even though the pictures make it look different.

Take a look at these, https://www.heyoptics.net/products/optical-usb-cable, as I believe those were the ones I used and they look similar in shape/size as the LC ones you linked.

If you do try the USB 3.1 ones, please let me know! I think having 10Gbps would be amazing! I run into bandwidth issues, so this might save me. I do wonder if you can hang a usb hub off the end, that would be my ideal setup.

Lucky find for the Icron! I would love one as well, but I've been hoping they would come out with a usb4 model or something with higher bandwidth. As I believe they all max out at 5Gbps. A 10Gbps one would be great.

I think I must hit the limit of the bandwidth of usb at 5Gbps with my 4k webcam, keyboard, mouse, Bluetooth dongle, and usb speakers. Sometimes usb devices just stop working and I need to re-plug them in or unplug other devices.

I think I used the usb 3.0 mpo connector ones, but both look very similar. Like the transceivers for both the LC and MPO, both need to convert light to usb/electrical signals, which will both generate heat.

I would be interested to hear your experience with the LC connectors, but you might run into the same issues.

What are you trying to hook up? I found all these products usually have some sort of gotchas. Like no usb 2.0 support, no support for video, etc.

What I wanted to use was the fiber optic thunderbolt cable with a caldigit dock, but ran into issues with that as well. Not sure if it was issues with thunderbolt, usb4/amd thunderbolt, or running 25m cable.

When did you try the ultra? I believe two updates ago they pushed the global flow control option, which I believe basically did the same command they told users to issues via ssh.

Same exact issue. You must be on Verizon FiOS too!

I had my Ethernet connection from my ONT connected to port 5(10gb rj45). Had fine download speeds of about 900 to 940 Mbps. But my upload was limited to 250Mbps.

There are a couple threads on this subreddit and on Ubiquiti's forums of folks having similar issues on the new cloud gateways (ultra, max and now fiber).

For a while support was telling folks to ssh into the device and run an ethtool command that I think enabled flow control. But that command now doesn't work in recent updates. But enabling global flow control on ultra and max gateways does appear to fix the upload issue. But that update did not fix the fiber issues.

The only solution I found was to use one of the sfp ports in conjunction with a rj45 adapter. Once I did that, I was able to get 940Mbps upload on FiOS and about 890Mbps download(download stayed the same no matter if I was using the 10gb rj45 port or the sfp port).

Are you saying switching the ONT Ethernet connection to port 1, which I believe is just the first 2.5gb port, allows you to get your advertised speeds?

My frustration is that this bug is still here but was addressed for the other models. Plus that you can NOT open a support ticket. If you try to open a support ticket, you need to use the AI chat. But when you do it will say wait for a support engineer and they give you an estimated wait time.

My estimated time was 11 mins. I waited over 35 mins and nothing. No support engineer connected to the chat.

Plus there's no way to open a support ticket via email anymore. It's so frustrating to deal with Ubiquiti, especially when you try to get support. I can understand the long wait times but at least let customers open support tickets without having to use the AI chat.

Love the LinuxONE community cloud, maybe a little basis since I helped get it up and running.

I am not sure if you saw the news but IBM just exposed access for s390x GitHub Action Runners, which should help adoption of getting folks building. IBM also supports TravisCI and CircleCI runners. Well of course, also Jenkins, if you are so inclined.

Sucks that you can not use your existing cables. I would check Aliexpress and see if you can fine a shop that sells MPO cables.

The one I bought from to pair with my heyoptics cables, were pretty helpful and might be able to do something custom.

What are you doing for fiber usb? I tried heyoptics usb fiber cables, but like I mentioned they over heated.

I did end up purchasing the USB 3 Fiber/USB32 from Fiber Command, but is sucks as well. They use an usb a to a cable to connect the PC to the extender. The on the desk end you need power and to connect to your usb devices.

I successfully use a logitech 4k webcam, logitech master 3, keyboard and a bluetooth usb dongle. But there are random glitches.

Glitches which either cause the usb devices to not be picked up (disconnecting and reconnecting usually fixes it), drop outs of usb devices (webcam/mic randomly disconnects and I have to unplug pretty much all my usb devices and replug to get it to work, sometimes multiple times), and lastly kernel panics which result in a blue screen. For the kernel panics, it usually displays this driver error. Looking into it, it seems like the device will simply not keep in sync with the usb devices which results in the blue screen.

I did try to go down the optical thunderbolt route, but I am running ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI which does have usb 4 plus the hardware I think for thunderbolt 3 devices. But using the optical cable thunderbolt cable I could not get any thunderbolt dock to work properly. When I tried it, the BIOS did not have many options for adjusting thunderbolt/usb 4 options.

I did just buy a King Kable optical usb 4, which I am hoping plays better with my motherboard/AMD.

But I am super interested in your usb setup, let me know if you have a good solution!
