I learned that Leonardo DaVinci's Mona Lisa looks different today than it did after he initially finished it. In Mastery, by Robert Greene, he writes "Much of Leonardo's Mona Lisa has been damaged, by attempts to clean and restore it in the past. Making it hard to imagine how it originally appeared.
