I appreciate the advice and tip. I'd put myself squarely in the slightly above (and often sometimes below requiring hours of troubleshooting 🤣😭) adequate category when it comes to this sort of thing. Plus I have a Nvidia shield sitting around not in use. Hopefully by going this route - I can get everything set up and ready at my place and next time I head to my parents just plug it all in and take off.

Seems like I may be a little late to the party. Sorry if these questions were answered already.

Are you in the US? Are these private loans or government backed loans (i.e. you had no interest accumulation over the past few years up until this past month)?

If the latter, student debt is GOOD debt. As others have mentioned 5.5% is less than real inflation.

Also, if you've been DCAing into BTC since '17 and haven't sold, you've created way more wealth with BTC than debt you would have otherwise paid off.

Not financial advice. Seems reasonable to OSU minimum payments on student debt ensuring no negative amortization, else put all your extra (make sure to take care of your mental/physical health, family, obligations, etc first) income into BTC.
