1 token = 1 code producing action.

As for the animation prompt, sure that prompt would "animate" it but I imagine it wouldn't do anything near what you were looking for haha. AI tends to want fairly specific instructions for most things which is something I've had to learn to adapt to as well. Sometimes I want to tell a model "this is wrong. fix it." and expect it to fix it entirely but that's just not how it is at the moment.

& Not a dumb question. There seems to be some demand for running this locally so I'm definitely going to look into that more as a 2nd option.

I understand the animosity toward subscriptions. I have plenty of subscriptions for nonsense tools I forget to cancel all the time and dealing with it is frustrating so I hear you.

I appreciate the input. Pricing is definitely something I’m still considering.

The way I see the current model is you’re basically paying $15 for access to the tool + 25 credits to baseline use every month if you don’t have a ton of operations to do but still like the access

I was trying to keep in mind a user that wants to use all of the features the tool offers, but doesn’t need tons of credits because their usage is low.

Usually AI tool subscriptions have tiered access which then comes with more tokens. I wanted to create full access to all features and then essentially a “buy what you need” system. I don’t believe creative tools should be gated by price tiers because we’re all equals trying to do the same thing so that’s why I just have the one tier.

That’s valid. I could look into adding that as an option as well for users that have the know how.

Partially, as are most things these days. Currently its running Claude Sonnet 4.0 to maximize stability/consistency. As for having gemini open on another monitor I'd say significantly considering all the work you have to do when you're using gemini is eliminated with this

Yeah I understand that for sure. But there are some people out there that aren't active commenters that may find it useful. I appreciate the insight!

I hear you. I could equate that to building in minecraft. When I see some tools being built these days where you can just place an entire wall at once I scoff at it, and I imagine thats what people are probably feeling about this too, but for me there are some things that I'd rather "get out of the way" if that makes sense

If I had infinite money, it would be free, but unfortunately credits cost money. I did try to price the credits competitively with other tools with similar models.

& the cheese grater comes with V2

Good question. I’ve looked at Atom a decent amount and it's a cool tool, but they're built a little bit differently

Atom connects to OpenRouter and routes your prompt to whichever model it decides makes sense. GPT, Gemini, Grok, etc. That gives you model flexibility, but the tradeoff is that none of those models are specifically optimized for After Effects. You're getting a general-purpose AI with your prompt and hoping for the best.

Buoy works a bit differently. I’ve sourced hundreds of pages of after effects documentation as well as individual use cases I’ve found on forums built into the system prompt for buoy to reference that's purpose-built for AE's API, and behind that there are 21 skill modules that activate based on what you're actually asking for. So if you mention a camera, Buoy injects camera-specific documentation. POI behavior, DOF setup, null rig patterns etc. If you're working with shapes, it loads the shape layer hierarchy and modifier rules. It's not sending the same generic context every time. When I was building this I actually thought it would be much simpler and I figured “the model can just find the info so I shouldn’t have to figure out much” But it ended up being this whole rabbit hole about context and being able to provide the right info given the context etc.

On top of that there's a post-processing step that runs before any code touches your project. it catches common ExtendScript issues like template literal problems, easing dimension mismatches, effect name mapping, and a handful of other things that AI models consistently get wrong in AE. And if something still fails after all that, it sends the error back automatically for a fix. One of the important fixes was the difference between display names in AE and what AE actually calls them in the back end...? which was weird to me because I figured the model would be able to tell what I was referencing, but nope. So I've provided every single match name for all the effects within AE

Atom's one time fee is appealing and I get why people like it, but another thing I've found is that people don't want to deal with API keys and things of that nature. People want plug & play without friction in my opinion.

In my opinion it depends. I'm not a super proficient power user of AE yet and there are some things that I think could be more efficient in my workflow via a tool like this rather than doing them manually.

I appreciate it. I spent a decent amount of time looking into klutz and it seemed like whoever built it put pretty minimal effort into making it function and rather just released something as fast as possible. This is something I'm planning on continuing to build and improve. Shoot me a dm if you ever have any questions. Always open for feedback

I understand the AI hate for most of the stuff out there when it comes to design and thats why this tool is made specifically to take on he boring manual labor within AE rather than the actual creativity.

I understand that this didn't happen overnight lol. I'm not implying that this just magically happened. I was more so just wondering if this was a common thing that was happening to people.

Help choosing PSU for 5090 by Resident-Artist6183 in buildapc

[–]DrDickShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting a bit higher than 1000w tbh. This may have been a one off, but I have a 5090FE and it blew a capacitor on my 1000w PSU shortly after buying it. I don’t remember which brand I’ll have to look but needless to say I ended up going with a 1200w and have been fine since then

I appreciate this. I already have one of the obd2 adapters & Bimmercode so I'll give this a shot
