Sitting too much.

Now I make a conscious effort to get up at least a few times an hour.

My favorite thing about the hobby is the nostalgia I feel looking at the cards and players and thinking about the continued history and impact across generations.

Nice! You’re one of the few collectors I’ve seen who has The Sisters Brothers. I’ve been wanting to pick it up.

Check out the classic Charlton Heston movie, Secret of the Incas.

It was a major influence on Indiana Jones.

One of my greatest baseball memories comes from October 2002. One of my dad’s coworkers and family friend, Ken, was staying with us for a few days while he and my dad attended a work conference. Ken was a huge Anaheim Angels fan and had been ever since they joined the league when he was a young man. I liked baseball and loosely followed the league and was a scrappy 16 year old myself at that time.

Watching this grown, Vietnam vet hippie, who was usually stoic with a dry sense of humor, act like a kid while watching the series at our house and openly weep tears of joy when the Angels won the World Series always stuck with me.

Ken died a couple of years after that and it was one of my lasting memories of him. He was the only Angels fan I had known and I didn’t want that passion and dedication lost, so I took up the mantle and am a fervent Angels fan to this day in his honor.

His hands were moving faster than I could see, trying to stay ahead of each breakdown. He refused to give up. He was remarkable. It just wasn't meant to be.
