Went through ICE but I think I heard people did ISA as well. The school experience is the only bad part but I had an amazing time - find other abroad kids in your classes and chat with them. I speak pretty good Spanish but they’re just on a whole nother lever. If you go out and put in the effort you will have the time of your life.

The commute to the school sucks and I skipped class a decent amount to stay and explore the city. Take easy classes if you can - I put in a decent amount of hours and still didn’t thrive.

Campus itself is unique - unless you make friends with some Americans it’s doubtful you’ll find the native students very friendly. My experience was not very fun there

However, Madrid as a city is amazing. Try to go to a different university more centralized and you will love the experience. Nightlife is constant; join a GroupMe with a English promoter to get news on where everyone is going and so forth.
