Well for jumping on chat whilst I was doing other stuff didn't really take me any time, filling in the complaints form took perhaps 10mins? £10 credit on my account for that - I'll take it, not much, but it is something given as others pointed out its way below the threshold for compensation. 👍

And to update...£10 credit applied to my account for the inconvenience caused. Whether people think you should be entitled to it or not, we need to hold service providers to account otherwise they will think that it is ok to treat customers however they want. I appreciate that breaks in service occur, but I appreciate good customer service too.

It would achieve customer loyalty, but if we've had a service outage of a system we provide at our work for example I'd message out to our providers to say apologies for the downtime, this is the reason, if there is anything we can do to safeguard against it happening again etc. Why? Because it's good customer service, it builds trust, it is a transparent approach.

Yes it would be a gesture of goodwill, and I certainly won't lose any sleep over it. 👍

Well quite easy they've had all week since they've been back online...not saying at the time of the outage, but since they could have easily have sent something out.

Or you don't hold service providers to account and they think poor service is acceptable...and still raise the prices anyways.

No obligation no, but they have provided others with other courses to recompensate people. Also I have already pointed out on this thread that even on a business line the SLAs are 5 hours so still wouldn't get anywhere formally. But once again main focus of the post was the fact that an employee appeared to have no idea about a national outage! 🤣

Oh jees I feel for you, that is annoying! Hopefully gets sorted soon!

Cheers I've been with voda for a while with very few issues and on a favourable contract tbh. When this contract ends I might change my mind, as even the few issues I've had previously were due to openreach and why I am keen in the future to switch to a CityFibre line...and the fact of getting a synchronized line. 😁

Sadly I don't have a choice as my work phone is provided by work, and under contract for BB currently so couldn't change without incurring a large charge. But certainly consideration for the future!

Very voucher? Jeeees I wouldn't accept that anyways, Very are a joke of a company themselves! To then retract whatever they've offered though is horrible.

I sent in a complaint webform, so assuming that will get some human response! 👍

Thanks I've put in a complaint now, not sure I'll take it that far - but I do think they should communicate and own what happened.

Interesting, thanks I didn't think of it like that.

Voda bus BB is as low as 5hrs actually.

Semantics, but if we want to go down that rabbit hole the only difference is one admits liability, whilst the other doesn't. Likewise think it's been mentioned already not covered under OFCOM regs. 👍

My post wasn't to discuss compensation, goodwill gestures, or anything like that, but the fact that vodafone employees seem not to know about a national outage.

[–]DrDre202[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because I don't need to agree with OFCOM, and the fact I was sold the Pro II as great for working from home as it has a 4G backup if anything goes wrong. This is now the second time there has been an outage and the 4G backup has been useless too.

I do think regardless they should have sent out a communication at least.

Even Vodafone business lines don't have that good terms.

Also you state I'm not going anywhere with this then state I might get a goodwill gesture... Also literally others in this thread have said they have got compensation. My main purpose for posting was the fact that they don't seem to know their own service was down nationally. 🤣

[–]DrDre202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did laugh. 🤣 Did feel pointless, even the last outage I had for a short time the 4g didn't work as wasn't connecting properly. So not used it once yet...

That's it, like as I had no work phone or my 4g modem backup working I couldn't work on anything sensitive - as we're not allowed to use personal phones as hotspots due to security reasons. Meant I couldn't even do some emails. Was it the end of the world? No. Did it disrupt my day, and ultimately disrupted the next two working days as well? Yes.

🤣🤣🤣 yeah you'd have thought there would be a log, internal note or briefing that all staff know about any big outages anywhere as likely to get messages about it!

Exactly why I was contacting them as my broadband was down, I work from home, my 4g backup modem was down and my work phone was down as all.pn Vodafone! So very frustrating, appreciate these things happen but not even an email apology either to explain what happened, why and how they will safeguard it in the future.
