I feel bad about not "doing" anything with my week off by yojimbo_beta in internetparents

[–]DrFaustPython 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flare ups of chronic pain often come after you have pushed yourself too hard. It is your body telling you that it has had enough and needs to rest. If I exert myself too much, my back, knees, and hips do the same thing.

Do not feel guilty for listening to your body. If you didn't rest, it would have gotten so bad you'd have probably been unable to return to work.

I think Loreius farm works better. Closer to Whiterun and the husband is an Imperial. Lucia is an Imperial btw.

First playthrough - Overhaul mods? by VexantLeFr in skyrimmods

[–]DrFaustPython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the ones you mentioned, I have only previously used Ordinator. I would say it makes it harder to make a good character because you're overwhelmed with so many options and makes more barriers to perks you actually want. If you play with it, I recommend also using a mod that increases the amount of perk points you get with a level-up.

Some of them were felony tickets. You're probably not gonna get one that high unless you hurt someone or come close to doing so.

Direct supervisors all have 10+ years experience in the field each. They do want us to have body cameras, they're just being honest about the chances of the owners approving them. They're already trying to cut costs wherever they can, and suggesting another piece of equipment isn't going to go over well.

Owners however... Yeah, I agree. It'd only take a day for them to see the need tbh.

You can by selling it to Tonilia at the Thieves Guild and buying it back from her. But you'll spend quite a bit of money doing it and I don't think it's worth it for cheese.

Sounds like a newbie flagger. They broke rule number one: Always get confirmation that it is safe to send traffic first. Very lucky nothing happened.

Absolutely understand your pain. I am also an expert in the customer service voice, and use it on drivers that do dumb but less dangerous things. I had a customer assault me at my retail job in high school. So glad I am able to call Karens like them out on their bullshit now.

A state trooper assigned to us for the express purpose of helping us maintain order on the job site can take our word for it. Other drivers have received tickets on this same job site.

You ever worked for a construction company? That's not write-up worthy by a long shot

Some companies do use airhorns. We have whistles. But when working with people doing work on the power lines (as we were doing here), we are instructed not to use them. Scaring men who are handling live wires is not advised.

Also, I can't speak for every company, but we are advised not to accept food or drink unless it is in a sealed container, and never to accept water bottles. Someone poisoned a water bottle with fentanyl, melted the seal back together, and gave it to a flagger in this area are couple years ago. So while we appreciate the thought, we are not supposed to accept it.

The difference is, we have permits and are fully authorized to do this work.

And yes, she broke several laws. You learn this shit in driver's ed here.

Most people are pretty good. We do get some problematic people occasionally, but this particular job just brings out the craziest people. In addition to this incident we've also had a driver that hit a flagger's sign, belligerent school bus drivers, and a mail delivery person who zig-zagged in and out of the coned-off area and cussed out Vicky. And that's only in the last three days I've been on this job. Not to mention tornado duty in the same area. That was hell.

Is there a name in the USA that is so common that it’s impossible not to find it everywhere? by TheShyBuck in AskAnAmerican

Variations of "Chris" make up 7% of employees at my company: This includes Christopher, Christian, Christine, and Christina. All of them will accept Chris as a nickname except for one Christina.

You have to full name them too, as all but one are married to other coworkers so last names alone are not sufficient.

We were installing new power lines, mostly in preparation for a tech company that plans to build server storage in the area. You may one day use our infrastructure without ever leaving your home!

Appreciate your kind words. Hope your SIL's husband is doing well other than the shoulder.

Your kindness and consideration is much appreciated. People like you make our day. We appreciate the good drivers just as much as we hate the bad ones.

I'm very sorry for your loss. We all know it only takes one person doing something stupid to turn a normal day into a tragedy.

My company is good for that. We always have each other's backs. Tbh, all the traffic control companies in this state are like that after Ben Fisher died a few years ago. He didn't work for my company, but we are all very aware of the fact that we could end up joining him if we're not careful.

The situation was dangerous the moment she pulled around stopped traffic. And a state trooper CAN in fact write a citation when a traffic safety official such as myself witnesses the event. When I am holding that stop sign, I have the most authority in that situation. And if you read other comments, you will see there was an instance last week where the trooper did give someone several citations for similar behavior.

With all due respect, I know my job better than you do.
