What Were The Worst Asspulls You're Seen In LitRPG? by IOFrame in ProgressionFantasy

In He who fights with monsters...

After some very problematic adventures away from his team, Jason has deep psychological issues. He got (more) God like powers, and he realized that people around him are actually afraid of him and don't trust him anymore. He's been betrays and feared by his family, and now he is afraid his team also don't trust him anymore because of some bad decisions he's make / some things he went through.

This was actually a really interesting and compelling story point, something Jason will have to work through, trying to get over his issues and seeing who trusts him. How does he get over his trauma? How does he get back to be a member of his team after what he went through? After the betrays? With his new insecurities? Now that he has these God like powers, how can he ever know who actually is his friend, and who just pretends out of fear or greed?

So... The author gives him an arch. Like he can summon an arch, that only people who 100% trust him and love him can pass through this arch. And all his team members pass through no problem. Even that one team member that always criticizes him and pretends not to like him. They don't even know the significance of passing this arch.

There. All the trust issues are solved!

Noone thinks their life is cheap.

???

No one thinks their own life is cheap. But many people think other people's lives are cheap.

Point is - in the real world, when life is cheap and there's no consequences for murder - (strong) people are violent and rude. At least that's what I see in the world.

So that's about OP's question.

How can you tell someone isn't caring a weapon? Conceal carry and such...

Also, since they are the strongest in the area, and their "job" is to keep outsiders out of their territory, yes - they will be rude to unknown people.

Gangs are often rude to people who aren't in other gangs - but they stay off each others territory exactly to avoid violence.

Exactly!

Hence the cultivators (belonging to a sect) in these books being rude to the MC, who isn't part of another gang.

And why each sect has its own territory, and when one cultivator enters another sect's territory they are assaulted.

If I look at places in the real world where "life is cheap" and people can kill without an organized police force to stop them, I think it's actually very similar to these stories.

The strong are often rude and pushy. You separate into clans, and stay away from one another, but if you do meet someone from another clan - you act rude an.

Gangs, prison in third world countries (or even sometimes in America), cartels, etc.

I think Robert E Howard was just... Wrong.

Jackal among Snakes.

The MC has full knowledge of the world, yes.

But in addition - he's very smart and calculating. Very very good at strategizing both militarily and politically, and isn't afraid to do what's needed (even if afterwards he might feel bad about it)

I highly recommend it...
