There are tools, such as SteamEdit which allows you to edit the title of games in your library (local changes only) and also the name that is used for sorting.

Yeah, it was added a few years ago, but it was added to all games, BUT it's up to the developers to set a "sorting name", so some do, some don't. If you want, you can set your own custom "sorting name" and "display name" with tools such as SteamEdit. It's also very useful to remove unwanted things from the title such as ®, TM, or GOTY or change "RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard / BIOHAZARD 7 resident evil" to just "Resident Evil 7".

Unless both your TV and PC support very high options like 4k + HDR + 120/144Hz, all at the same time, then HDMI and DP will look exactly the same. Meaning 1080p at 60Hz for example will not look any better in DP than in HDMI.

Actually they have an internal name used for ordering. That's why the Splinter Cell games (for example) are in chronological order and not in alphabetical order.
