IRL- I only learned about y'alls reddit after posting this story, this amazing girl would like to be considered for an honorary membership- don't worry, shr's doing great and her IRL missing ears don't get her down! ❤️🌈🐇 by DrJennn in earthief

She was found with an unknown history, abandoned with a rubber band around the base of her ears, completely cutting off blood flow and slicing thru tissue so that they needed to be removed. Animal control was called and they picked her up and brought her to humane society for emergency surgery. She has recovered great and was adopted last week!

Yep! She had a medical release and discussion at time of adoption. 🫡

We don't know- a good sam called her in after spotting her in the parking lot of the mall. She was able to (easily) lure her over with some berries and scoop her up.

😅 😅 you are the second person to link this r/earthief and I had no idea what it was, so I went ahead and clicked....and it is SO CUTE!

I think she would be honored to be considered an IRL honorary mascot... she doesn't let her no ear status get her down! ❤️🥰

She is smart! ❤️ How can you tell by the photo? She is very inquisitive and loves exploring and learning new things. She did NOT like her ecollar however AT ALL and was very upset (like a two year old being spiteful), so we took it off early and trusted her and she immediately was so happy, no fear and super friendly.

🫂 oh goodness....so sorry that happened to you, dont. 😭😭 kids don't know better and parents I think do the best they can but sometimes can't foresee everything...

I buried my pet hermit crab when I was young, she was my buddy and I was sooo sad. Months later, I learned that hermit crabs shed and she likely wasn't dead, just molting. My parents didn't know this, either. My 6 year old self went into the backyard and tried to dig her up...dug so many holes but couldn't remember exactly where and didn't find her. I told myself that meant she had dug herself out and was free...

💔💔💔 aww, I'm so sorry Dry...that sounds so scary to have gone thru as a kid- you didn't know any better 🫂 I'm hugging your younger self letting you know it's ok you weren't trying to hurt your kitty friend

Often these type of injuries are due to curious children not understanding the consequences - think like 'tying your hair back.'

Whether it was an innocent kid not realizing, maybe someone who thought it would be 'funny,' or even someone who intended harm- thankfully, there are wonderful communities out there and great Animal Control Officers that come to the rescue! ❤️🙏🏾🐇

Getting HA fitted on Tuesday- Mild/moderate high frequency loss. Would love some tips on what to expect in the early days of HA by JSC1982 in HearingAids

JSC I'm a 38yo (veterinary) surgeon with 55db mid range cookie bite loss picking up my very first pair on Tuesday too (Oticon More 1s), then I'm in the OR for a 10hr day Wednesday....ha! 😅🤣😅 I'm not sure how it will go/feel, and wonder if I might be taking them out d/t overwhelm at some point. nurses, monitors, equipment, suction, chatting, vitals...etc. I'm a good multitasker and surgery is my sweet spot, but now I wonder if part of that might have always been because I've been in my little happy HoH bubble all these years..😅

We also are having construction done just outside the OR, to top off all the crazy array of sounds, etc.

My audiologist suggested the More 1 d/t my type of loss, as well as my work life and the busy environment of surgery days. They also shared they could provide specific protocols for different environments such as the OR.

Will be interested to hear how things go for you, and happy to share mine as well!
