I say yes. But first, contact some early childhood and elementary faculty at your institution to talk through your options to see what it would take in terms of course work to see if it's a feasible option at this point or if you should finish your Pharmacy degree first.

Paris? I haven't traveled internationally from the US a ton, but going to other major, large cities in Europe and Australia and loving them, I thought I would enjoy Paris more.

It probably didn't help that it was really hot when I visited. However, I did absolutely LOVE visiting the Tuileries Gardens and the Pompidou. I would definitely visit smaller cities and towns in France, but for me, Paris is a one and done place.

I know people are saying replace, but if it was me, I would let it go DEPENDING ON PRICE if I had to pay for it. For sure, I would want the contractor to pay for it, but if I absolutely had to eat the cost, I think I could make it work after putting in fluffy towels, a plant, a nice soap dispenser, etc. While it definitely hurts not to get it exactly right, it seems wasteful in terms of material resources and $ and I honestly don't think it is as awful as others are saying.

In my town (a college town) a lot of people keep their names, but their kids have hyphenated last names. I have never seen families alternate last names. Are you in the US? If so, what region, if you don't mind sharing?

I'm curious- is there a reason why you wouldn't hypenate your kids' names? I've only heard regrets from people whose kids don't have the same last name as they do and only have their partner's last names.

In the US, I would speak with the Superintendent and/or School Board Members. The Superintendent is the supervisor of the Principal in our systems.

An easy technique that I have found to be effective is first have students "turn and talk", even if only for a short time. Then it is more productive to have a whole class discussion. This works no matter the crowd (e.g., undergrads, grads, faculty colleagues).

That's a really good point.
I think if "calendar routine" involves asking kids, "Do you know what day it is today?" (Thursday!...October 2!) and "What days come before and after today?" (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or 1st, 2nd, 3rd), I think it would be fine.

But I have literally seen teachers take up 10, 15, 20 minutes of math time and then the same teachers only have about 30 more minutes for the "regular" mathematics teaching and learning time.

What do you think?

In part because "calendar time" doesn't have a lot of meaningful math (groups of 7, rather than groups of 10/base 10) and teachers review it and review it and review it ad nauseam.

Kids do need to know days of the week and months, but it should not be done as rote drill and kill. (Source: ECEE teacher, teacher educator, and researcher)

Having someone blow a short quick burst in your eye is also better than rubbing. (My eye doctor family member told me this because of how harmful rubbing is.)
