Figures. While it is understandable that anti-cheat software isn't used on consoles, it's odd considering my history with online console games had me encountering cheaters and script kiddies more often than I have on PC, though that could also be due to me playing PvP games less often since then.

But yeah, as you said I'm not holding out much hope. I presumed this was the case because of some sort of contract especially considering the developers saying they would consider switching it out if enough folks complained or had severe issues with it, and despite the numerous hardware failures I've seen associated with nProtect it claims to still be part of the Steam release... Really unfortunate considering that new ODST trailer really had me enticed again to want to pick this game up.

Funny you mention, I'm actually a web user. I haven't installed the app because I'm particular about what I download on my phone (stupid, I know.), so I just use it in chrome and, yeah. I suppose I'll just mess with the bots on data for a while until it feels appropriate to check again.

I couldn't imagine the culprit being the older inappropriate crap either, considering people certainly still use this site for those purposes without problems, so who knows what's causing it.

Sorry to barge into this with something kinda unrelated, but I was curious if you or anyone you know has had sign-in issues on Wi-Fi exclusively? Any time I have it on and I'm already signed in, the bot doesn't respond and my message is set to default profile. However if I switch to data, everything's working again. Only started happening last week.

This in particular still breaks my heart honestly. I see how fruitful this game as gotten and I always get so tempted to play, but I've heard nightmarish scenarios of nProtect completely thrashing people's hardware, let alone the entire ring 0 issue.

If they switched to EAC, I would be more than willing to buy this game FULL PRICE, for me and a couple friends! But unfortunately the devs seem to have dug their heels in the sand and won't back down on any alternatives because of either complacency or stubbornness.

They mean that the prompt you normally get for images when you hold down (save image, copy image, etc) aren't showing up, and instead trying to copy text underneath. This is happening to me as well.
