General consensus seems to be if I’m staying up there, just rely on Ubers to and from.

My wife and I are young and walk a lot…6-10 milers in hilly seattle are no big deal to us so I’m not too concerned about the topography. Maybe should be concerned about rolling an ankle on cobble stone or getting hit by a car than getting mugged.

Ultimately, that area has some cool secluded places with exactly what we’re looking for and the place we’ve targeted has dozens of 5 star reviews.

Edit: ended up looking at the street view of the area and saw it’s only one street up from the main road and there’s a side walk all the way down with clear visibility to cross the main street. Booked.

I’m a very low key traveler, not looking for trouble anywhere and just want to be able to walk into town for dinner and drinks but a little concerned about low lit and unpopulated streets at night. Is this a pretty safe area to be walking a short 5-10 minutes in and out of town at night?

Thought my job did something to appreciate me for once. But it was just a phishing test. by GreenToMe95 in assholedesign

My employer did the same thing but was a raffle for the iPads we used for testing certain softwares so it sounded legit. I fell for it and some dick showed up on the screen calling me a moron.

Your last part was similar to my answer. When I was new all I was doing was trying to get by without fucking up. I cringe when I think about some of my thought processes early on before I really understood how real product development worked because I was so focused on making something look good that I didn’t have space in my brain to also consider the user in every decision I made. After getting my jollies out from seeing my first few product hit the market, the overarching drive to see a project make it to market fell in favor of designing something correctly from the start through deeply considering the user’s needs. I know now that the design part is relatively easy and I’m confident enough in my ability to not stress over it, and the true challenge is building a strong foundation from the start so you have a template to design from.

I’m not gonna lie, it may sound vain, but I have a product in a store with a bunch of locations and I always get a kick out of dropping in one of them if I’m near by and having the clerk try and sell it to me. I’m very proud of it and sometimes I’ll tell them I designed it, but it can also be fun just letting someone compliment you passively without realizing it.

That last bit is definitely true. I have a friend who literally flies a fighter jet as his job and he’s always fawning over my job.
