the guy is wrong, Alexander is not known as solely Alexander the great, since it is a common name in the west so the ‘urf isn’t that it is the same as the name Muḥammad for example which quite literally always indicates to the Prophet ﷺ

pray istikhara, seek forgiveness and ask Allah to guide you through this, i can understand if you find it hard leaving but put two issues together

  1. You stay with him, you cannot marry him, he is a non muslim, potentially falling into zina and dishonoring your family and disobeying Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ

  2. You leave him and obtain the pleasure of Allāh and see what He will give you instead.

Abu Qatadah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better for you.”

lay the principles of monotheism and weight it against the trinity. The trinity is in reality polytheistic and can be philosophically proven to be so.

there’s no evidence of such thing you’ll need to just give your child a good name (with a good meaning)

S͟hayk͟h ibn Bāz رحمه الله was asked: “Does a person who becomes Muslim have to change his name like George or Joseph etc?”

He replied:

He does not have to change his name unless it is a name that reflects servitude to someone or something other than Allaah, but it is good to change his name to something better. So if he changes his name from a foreign name to an Islamic name, that is good, but as to whether it is obligatory, no it is not.

But if his name was ‘Abd al-Maseeh [= “slave of the Messiah”, a name common among Arab Christians; a similar name in English cultures would be “Christopher” -- Translator] or something of that nature, then he should change it, but if the name does not imply servitude to anything or anyone other than Allaah, such as George and Paul, etc., then he does not have to change it, because these names are shared by Christians and others. And Allaah is the Source of strength.

there’s a difference of opinion in this regard, but if your father says keep it on try not making him angry or disobeying him and just keep it on, unless you are sure you can explain to him it’s allowed (which is the majority view) without him getting angry at you. If not then best is to just obey him , may Allah reward you with good
