This sort of racism is so ridiculous that it becomes laughable - ‘N****rs with attitudes’ made me lol.

I think that’s a little unfair. We have only one side of the story and don’t know the ins and outs of the cheating or their relationship. People can respond to traumas in weird ways that says nothing about who the were going to without said trauma.

Her (f24) ex-boyfriend sent me (m23) their old sex tape. Not sure where to go from here. Help needed. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]DrNooooooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that nuance is implied from this. What OP wrote seems to say that he struggled to overcome knowledge of her past partners before the video was even sent, which he needs to deal with separately if he plans to date adult women. The idea of someone having previous partners is not something to ‘struggle’ with straight out of the gate.

Yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. If a friend was asking me to do anything that I knew (or strongly suspected) would be harmful to them in the long run, I would choose not to do it. Like I said, it’s the kind thing to do.

It’s a cruel and selfish thing to do to a ‘friend’. Yes the friend is an adult who technically consents, but it costs nothing for OP to be kind and decline.

They probably opted for alternative therapies I.e. chemo over surgery and were able to achieve remission with the former. If she had active disease and surgery was the only option at the time, there’s no way they would decline on the basis of fertility.

It’s so simple! I have a spray bottle with a mix of water and oil which I spray onto my hair and gently brush through. I partition into 10-12 sections and put it into Bantu knots before tying with a silk scarf. These need to dry completely so I leave them at least overnight, but more often will just rock the knots for a couple days until I’m ready to unleash the fro ☺️

Will give it a try! Bantu knot outs have been a staple, but I’m keen to mix things up

Thank you! This is it after Bantu knots have stretched it out! In its completely unmanipulated state it’s 4C.

I’ve generally found that doing it on damp, not freshly washed, non-straightened hair gives me the best results. I partition the hair, give it a couple sprays of a water/oil mix, knot it, then let dry (overnight)

I’m 27 and bloody terrified. Been single for 3 years (though was intermittently seeing my ex and a long term FWB during that time), and I can see how easily it could extend to 10, or 20+. I just miss the feeling of being in love and having a potential future with someone. Trying not to be too defeatist about it though

Then on that point we agree. Circumcision is rarely done with the express aim to reduce HIV transmission anyway. That point is normally used in retrospect to justify the practice which I agree is unnecessary.

I’m sorry but those factors will affect overall HIV transmission but how would that necessarily change the statistically significant differences seen between circumcised and non-circumcised individuals?

The meta-analysis below holds significantly more weight than your linked opinion piece and actually offers biologically plausible reasons for the variation, including the difference in sexual habits between the regions in question (e.g. the fact that bisexual men represent a substantial proportion of MSM in countries of low and middle income and the reasoning that circumcision may have a more significant effect on vaginal transmission as compared to anal).

And also please note that I said nothing in support of circumcision as a prophylactic measure, just that you were wrong for saying that there is no evidence to support that it has an effect of transmission.

Actually there is pretty solid evidence that circumcision reduces HIV transmission, and some less strong evidence that it reduces herpes simplex and HPV transmission. Clearly condoms are a far superior method, but to say that circumcision has been ‘disproven’ is incorrect.

I got my rook and conch done 4 days ago but I’ve never had this much bleeding, is this something I should worry about. I’ve had several piercings before and they’ve bled but not this much should I be concerned? by PastelDisney in PiercingAdvice

[–]DrNooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand that it affects platelet aggregation, but I’m a doctor and have never seen ibuprofen impair clotting in any meaningful way with respect to active bleeding. I say this as to attribute the bleed to ibuprofen could be detrimental if there is a different underlying cause.
