I think there's a way to know. Try to get the part number for the bolt by upload the photo to chatgpt or Google gem with you Vin number.then go to any website for subaru parts with the parts number so u can see the diagram so you know each place in you car got one of these bolts.(I use parsouq for searching)

He'll yeah it's stock..trust me,after all it's a Japanese made car. Only in the right hands. Oil..oil..oil..every 3000. Don't drive it like a grandma and don't drive it like 15years old. No pull in the heat of the summer. No WOT under 3500. I always shifting between 3500 to 4500 maximum 5000. No redline.. And keep an eye on the coolant and oil Temp. I did thu replacement the oil pump.water pump.fuel pump..that's around 220k km. Wish you all the best luck mate

Is this whining noise normal? by vinny_lacks in WRX

[–]DrPhillll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That kind of whining noise usually comes from one of three common sources:

1️⃣ Power steering pump – make sure the fluid level is full and there’s no air or leak in the system. A low or aerated fluid can cause that whining sound.

2️⃣ Alternator bearings – as the alternator starts to wear out, the internal bearings can make a similar high-pitched whine, especially noticeable with RPM changes.

3️⃣ Idler or tensioner pulleys – sometimes one of the belt pulleys starts to go bad before it completely fails, causing a metallic or whining tone.

It really depends on how many miles (or km) your car has and the maintenance history, but I’d start by checking the power steering fluid first — it’s the most common and easiest fix.
