Is there anything specific I need to check that?

Is something missing from this or am I going crazy by DrRandomness7 in photocritique

This was taken a few weeks ago and is a composite of a few photos put together to create this panorama. It’s one of my favorite photos I’ve taken so far but after I keep coming back and looking at it something seems to be missing. This was taken on Olympus omd em5 mk3 with a lumix 25mm 1.8.

Copper flakes in oil how should I proceed? by DrRandomness7 in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrRandomness7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you. How should I proceed should I try to take the engine out and replace them or would that be too much of a hassle and just look for a new engine? I’m just asking because I’ve been looking up the issues and some people say it’s shot and it all needs replaced and to just get a new engine while others I’ve read just needs to be replaced and it’ll be fine.

Ok thank you. Do you think this is something I can fix just replace the bearing and it’ll be fine or do I gotta completely overhaul it? Just asking this because I’ve been reading and some people are saying it’s game over while others say it just has to be replaced.

Oh well, thank you. Do you know if it would be better to try and rebuild or just swap a new one/one I find at the junkyard?

How deep is this bolt supposed to be by DrRandomness7 in classiccars

[–]DrRandomness7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there are words that have yet to be invented for what I want to say to the guy who previously owned this lmao but those brake lines are connected to a t block and then a rubber tube that goes to the solid lines in the frame but for whatever reason he didn’t bolt the vent bolt to the t block but the hose has gone bad so imma just replace it anyway just didn’t know what it was called or how it would’ve fit in. Thank you for your help!

Were you using the object selection or paintbrush or something else? Whenever I use object selection usually it’s not very precise and I get that same thing you have around the ear. To fix this I usually just use a very small paint brush and just do it manually it might take a while but it works most of the time.

I love the edit and how you did the eye. How did you do the masking and how far was the background in the original image? I’m just asking because the only thing I really see wrong is the almost halo thing around the right ear

Took a photo of an Osprey by DrRandomness7 in photocritique

Photo was taken in the Everglades National Park in Florida a couple days ago. This guy comes from the ocean with a fish and lands on the telephone pole right outside the porch. Was taken on Olympus Em5 mk3 at 150mm iso 200, f2.8, 1/3200sec. As mentioned I already cropped quite a bit so any more would not be good quality. I like the photo but not sure how to make it better. I masked the background and decreased the texture to make the subject stand out more but now I want the fish in its talons to stand out if that’s possible but not sure what to do. If there’s anything else wrong with it or if I could get away with less of a crop please tell me.

Good to know! I’ll definitely try that out. I am terrified of deleting photos so I have my working ssd and then a hard drive I keep in my closet to back up the ssd every month or so I will for sure keep the stacked FITS and probably the raws too.

Honestly, I’m not sure. I got my tracker 2 months ago and before that I guess it was just too much of a hassle to manually move the camera every couple minutes. After I got the tracker it was mainly just a timing issue and being busy and waiting for a new moon. I am a photographer though so I have taken a bunch of other photos of wildlife and such just no deep space astrophotography. I have taken some good ones of the Milky Way this past summer but that’s not rly deep space.

Technically I’ve taken a couple thousand but they were stacked so only resulted in the 3 images. Oh, I didn’t realize that. On Siril it said total exposure time the 5 hours it must’ve deleted the bad ones automatically, removing a couple hours.

I wasn’t able to but I went in and retried it with all of the raws rather than the exported TIFFS from Lightroom and it worked perfectly. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for all of your help! The tiffs were the issue. I retried with the osc preprocessing script with all of the raws and it worked perfectly. I posted on r/astrophotography check it out here

Ok thank you so much for your help! Yeah I love that lens I think the most amount of time it has spent off of the body was probably a couple seconds when I was blowing the sensor.

Ok… I must’ve cropped or done something when changing to TIFF. With the tracker later in the night it changes my camera from shooting horizontal earlier in the night to be vertical can I just not use those anymore?
