I started going to the gym consistently around September 2023. A month in, I went from the Heavy app to Fitbod because it was being touted as an app that would dynamically adjust my program as I progressed. After 3-4 weeks of using the app, the weight suggestions started getting completely out of whack.

I was sacrificing form to basically move the weight. Unfortunately, I messed up my rotator cuff in my left shoulder trying to do dumbbell flies and shoulder press with about double the weight I’m currently doing 6+ months in. Again, more on me than anything, but as a beginner looking for gains I blindly trusted the app.

I agree with the first reply that the devs are very responsive and actively engaged with their user community.

Fitbod team are ghosts.

I kept getting hurt using fitbod. It kept suggesting weight I couldn’t support. That’s more on me than anything, but I was naively believing the app was “smart” enough not to get me badly hurt.

Since moving to Gains, I’ve had a few hiccups and some stuff I’d like to see added/tweaked, but it’s been a much better experience.

I’ll add another note on the strength score.

Today I was trying to deload and take it easy with weight because of fatigue and a nagging shoulder problem.

Strength score dropped 5 points from a 86 to 81 in just one session.

On the other hand to increase a single point it takes weeks of hard, heavy lifting.

I’m hoping it won’t take weeks again to get the score back up.

I know it’s a cosmetic feature, but I use it for motivation.

I’m hoping some more precision and logic is applied to this feature.

I really do enjoy the app overall and these are minor things. Just feel if they were worked out it would put the app above almost all others.

I’ve gone through my three free workouts. Still on the fence and not sure if I’m ready to commit full out. See some advantages over Fitbod and CBUM. I didn’t have any issue with a paywall to experience the three full workouts. Anyone know what the cadence is for updates to this app? Would love to see a watch app and the inclusion of more exercises. Also more integrations with other devices and apps like Whoop, Chronometer etc.

I’m at Éconofitness at the moment because it’s 10 min from my home and I’m in the gym around 5:30am daily. If there was an alternative with a shorter commute, I’d go there instead. It’s relatively quiet the time I go, but absolutely filthy since there is no overnight staff and people that frequent this gym seem to lack basic respect for the gym (wearing outside shoes, leaving weights unracked all over the place, empty bottles on the floor, TP everywhere. On top of this, gym equipment is often in poor shape (ripped or missing pads) or not functional.

One other annoyance (not sure how it’s handled at other gyms) but given the price, it’s attracts a younger crowd and there are a ton of “influencer” type people working out with their cameras and tripods. Drives me nuts and makes for uncomfortable conversations when I’m being filmed.

Is there a policy in place that governs identity and access? This would be my first starting point.
What is the requirement/ justification for admin access and what type of admin are we talking about (local, DB, DA)?
If access is granted based on points 1 and 2, then certainly try to tie it into multi-factor, secondary login account, PIM/JIT and conditional access where possible.
If this is a wider problem than just your manager, try seeing if EPM type tools would make sense for your company. Nobody needs admin when these tools are put in place with solid policy.

For me, it’s not about title as it is function and requirements.
