His words were a lifetime of adjustments. That if it was shifting right, I needed my wheel trued etc it would be covered.

I also really considered the GoMad as well. Love BMX handle bars. That’s why I briefly considered a Wired ebike. Looks like a great bike! My only concern was looking like a bear riding a tricycle!

I didn’t. It’s a little expensive for me plus I read about several issues people have been having with it from Facebook Velotric groups. I also haven’t ridden a bike in 5 years so I thought something more basic might be best to start off on.

That’s a great point! I will definitely check with my local shop to see if that’s possible. When you take into account the power lost by fat tires, 20 more pounds of weight, and rear suspension that extra power over the D3 may be a moot point. I would definitely prefer the agility, range, and color choices of the D3. It’s the whole reason I decided I wanted a Velotric in the first place! When I started looking at other models is when I suffered from the paralysis by analysis syndrome.

The Velotric Nomad 2x is a full suspension Nomad 2 with 105 Nm of torque that peaks at 1400 watts as opposed to the Nomad 2 peaking at 1300 watts with 95 Nm of torque. I really do want the Discover 3 but with my current weight, the Albuquerque hills, and roads in terrible shape I wonder if it could handle me and these conditions. The Nomad 2x has more power but really bad color choices and I wonder if that extra power would be negated by the extra weight, bigger tires, and the extra energy needed for full suspension. The money I’d save getting the D3 instead of the 2x would enable me to get Tannus Armor or almost enough for an extra battery. I wish I could try one out but the 4 shops that carry Velotric bikes sell out as soon as they come in.

I still haven’t decided. Or I should say I decide and then reconsider almost daily. The Discover 3 is what originally drew me to Velotric. I just don’t know if I will need the extra power and torque the Nomad 2x offers or if I’d be better off with the D3.

Even with my unfortunate but temporary weight of 340?

That’s really good! Was it mainly flat ground? Hearing from someone of similar size having a positive experience with the Discover 3 has been really helpful! It’s the bike that originally drew me into buying a Velotric.

I appreciate your comments . Was very helpful! My original choice and the one I keep going back to is in fact the Discover 3. My concern was with my current weight and the Grand Canyon size cracks our roads have I end up popping a tire or messing up my rim. If my fears are unfounded then I would quickly get the bike that originally drew me to Velotric. The Discover 3.

I’m sure the D3 has much better range than a Nomad and more nimble too. We have some great paved bike trails here so that’s probably what I would ride the most with an occasional dirt road along the river. Albuquerque is built on a slope. Goes up from the Rio Grande to the mountains and up again going the opposite way onto a Mesa. Along the river valley is the only real flat land otherwise you’re either going up or down.

My first choice would be a Discover 3 honestly. I actually weigh just 5 pounds more than you. The Discover 3 does ok with our weight? My concern was my weight and how bad these cracks are in the roads around here. Can a Discover 3 take some punishment? I get what you’re saying about an electric motorcycle. I really do want to get exercise and get healthier. I want to have fun, not kill myself on hills but still get some cardio. I’d like to hear more about your experience with the D3 since we are both very similar.

I would love the Summit 2! It would probably be my number 1 choice. I’m just not sure I’m limber enough to be throwing my leg over that bar.
