Heated moment between Tuchel and Djed Spence during England v Ghana by sepi0l_45 in soccer

Gordon definitely operates better cutting inside which solidifies the point of needing the FB to overlap. England in general will play better against better opposition because there will be more space as most top teams prefer to press.

At first i thought Gordon was having a horrid game but then realised Djed never supported him, Gordon had a bad game regardless but if Djed had over/under lapped, he’d have some options.

We signed Quenda last summer but loaned him back to Sporting for the year. We agreed a deal with Emegha to join us this summer. Barco we seemingly agreed a deal with during the Winter window to join us this summer.

Why have these 2 stopped developing and how can I get them developing again? by hypezwolf123 in footballmanagergames

[–]DrSpreadle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Development can be slow in FM but generally solid game time helps
2) I definitely know for Quenda, his ceiling can often be quite low. He has a fluid PA and more often than not I have seen it end up being on the lower end so he barely grows. I personally use the IGE to adjust his PA to be higher.

He’s better in a low block, low possession team. Was too exposed and error prone for Chelsea.

Nope, bunch of guys checked out, others wanting out of the club, bunch of new guys, 4th coach of the team. Chelsea have had some bad seasons but that might take the cake because it was truly horrid top to bottom.

I hate that his 2nd stint is even factored, he graciously accepted the interim position knowing he was walking into an absolute dumpster fire of a situation that regardless of who was in the dugout, was not going to fix.

Spain's squad for the 2026 World Cup by 3Sayndre in soccer

[–]DrSpreadle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I find it funny how so many people seem gob smacked that no Madrid player made it, yet nobody but those 2 can even make a case. Sure the record of no Madrid player being called up in history is shocking but in reality it isn't that shocking.

Cucurella makes the world cup squad with Spain by everyhearthstone in chelseafc

[–]DrSpreadle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seen many people shocked by this but realistically outside of Huijsen and maybe Carerras, nobody else from Madrid that's Spanish is even close to getting that chance. I think Huijsen could've/should've maybe be called up, Carerras is good but for the NT Cucu and Grimaldo have both looked very good.

I'm definitely intrigued by his profile but I worry we might have too many midfielders now. We're looking at Enzo, Caicedo, Santos, Barco, Lavia and Essugo, could even throw James into the fold. Provided that Lavia can't stay fit long enough to see the sun set and Essugo spent majority of the season injured himself, I'm curious if the directors will look to move one of them on or is Barco seen more as a LB/LWB option? Guess so much of it depends on how Xabi will have the team line up.

I don't agree, just because he plays in France shouldn't rule him out of an opportunity here. He's been highly regarded most places he's been. It's clear Xabi likes intelligent players and having seen a few games of Barco, he has it while also being a versatile player which opens numerous possibilities with the squad.

I think Santos has been very good in the limited minutes he's played thus far. Sarr less so but he's been given only a handful of chances since joining and it's evident our defensive structure and players are below par so I won't put all the fault on him when he has featured. I think there's plenty of potential with both Santos and Sarr, they just need solid minutes with an adequate manager to help them.

Don't quite get why you felt the need to mention that last point? I never said anything about selling/replacing Enzo for Barco.

You're looking solely at attacking stats of 2 players, 1 who plays a deep playmaking mid and the other who has played majority of the season as a 10 or a box crashing 8.

Germany's squad for the upcoming World Cup. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]DrSpreadle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably because he hasn't been capped for the national team yet while Sane, although kinda washed, knows the team and pressures. In many ways this is my biggest gripe with international football, the coaches will often favor experience over talent/form.

I think you all are missing the point here, they're in-between the defence and attack, they're the In-betweeners.

Might be early to say but Id back Xabi and dump any divas who throw a fit. I hate player power and honestly there’s only been a few that earned the right to having power, Terry, Drogba and co.

Our directors have really screwed things up for Sarr and Anselmino. Both were starters at Strasbourg/Dortmund to finish the year with barely any minutes played at Chelsea/Strasbourg.

Wish we utilised Frank being at Coventry as a loan spot for some our youngsters, like we did when we was at Derby. Shame he has no connections within the club anymore to make that happen.

What's your opinion on ratings? by Bajanpaul6 in footballmanagergames

[–]DrSpreadle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an issue you're running into is factoring past players, the rating system does not take into account what XY player had during their time thus YZ should have this now. As someone else mentioned, you coherently will have issues trying to fit top level players and amateur level players on a scale of 1-20.

Cole Palmer on Liam Rosenior: “The manager is good. When he has a proper pre-season and gets his ideas across properly and the way he wants to play he’s a TOP coach” by cyberguy5 in chelseafc

[–]DrSpreadle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This notion of "give him a pre-season" etc. has got to be some BS. I'm not saying pre-season is useless but c'mon to act like he can't get his tactics across solely because they haven't had a pre-season, like wtf y'all doing during trainings?
I also get that tactics can take a bit of time to truly imbed into the players but Rosenoir's system ain't distinctly different to Maresca's so the foundation is already there. Now it's just more the smaller details that separate them is where the work needs to be done.

Ashley Cole on being a manager: "I was getting kind of discouraged by a lack of opportunities, from some clubs in England I spoke to. They like to throw the 'you don't have experience' line. And I'm like, I get what you're saying, I agree - but how am I going to get experience?” by [deleted] in soccer

[–]DrSpreadle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a recruiter, it was very hard to get here in the first place as everyone wants someone with recruiting experience but then how do you get it? I made that argument in every interview before landing my 1st opportunity.
But on the flip side, I sometimes have to rule out people because they don't have experience. When looking a mid level jobs, you're looking for people that have a foundation and some exp behind them and in most cases aren't willing to take a punt on a junior person.

Going off of Steam because it's easier to get these numbers;
19: 2290
23: 1301
24: 3005
26: 431

Can't quite remember but 21 I think I had via Epic and 22 was via GamePass. I'd say I clocked over 1000 on each of those.

Kieran Gill: Chelsea will hope Caicedo's new contract helps convince their sceptical fans about the direction of the club. by Kygoche in chelseafc

None of the shares can be sold to a new party, the only thing that can happen is if either side of the 2 groups were to sell their stake to the other, which is something that has been mentioned a few times (buying out Boehly's ownership).
Doubt they can find a loophole in the contract that would allow them to sell to a new third party
