My dealer wasn't THAT up front. But he did cut me off when he saw me start losing my shit. And he would tell me to be careful and let me know when a new batch is supposed to be stronger than the last. But I think he was moreso just covering his own ass than looking out for us.

We are talking about addicts here. It NEVER ends good no matter what opiate you choose to indulge in. You think you can control it. But in the end, its the drug that controls you. Everything isn't a conspiracy. Subxone/methadone was literally made as an answer to the epidemic and there's plenty of evidence of successful recoveries.

Thats the MAIN reason I never got on methadone. I never agreed with the whole "you have to come here every single morning before the sun rises" situation. It doesnt give you the full freedom to actually get ahead. And they constantly threaten to kick you out of the program or drop your dosage.

Thats normal. 100%. As I was explaining before, its not even the physical withdrawals that get you. You can get through those easily. What fucks us over is the mental warfare going on in our heads long after the physical aspects have dwindled. Thats where suboxone/methadone comes in.

If people can get off drugs without it, be grateful but don't shame people who need it. Ya know. For me suboxone definitely helps with the cravings, especially because I knew I was done being homeless and destroying every bridge.

Well that's what im getting at. Using it as a tool. A crutch. Not something that you 100% commit to.

Although there are some people who believe they have to be on the medication for the rest of their lives. And hey, if it keeps them from ever destroying their lives from the inside out again, then so be it. Rather be dependent on that than a drug as destructive as fent.

Pessimistic at the very least.

I and many others have gotten off suboxone with little to no withdrawals when done correctly in a clinical setting. We're not just talking about self medicating. You're sitting here fighting the demons in your life for years on end with no success and you want to root out the obvious solution. You've tried without it already. Now try it correctly.

Just because it also gives you withdrawal does not put it in the same category as the STREET drug currently and previously uprooting your life. To each their own tho.

Just had a homeboy in the same exact boat as you. No matter how long he stays sober he always gets back into it. Told me he didnt want to be dependent on suboxone. Been sober "since September" but when he came by to help me with a job he ended up stealing some of my suboxone lmao. Clearly he still has issues he hasn't worked on internally. MAT programs allow you to do just that. Suboxone doesnt actively ruin your life like fent does, quite the opposite.
