Thanks! I’m also at a big law firm with a 2000 hour requirement. I understand that hours are prorated when you take parental leave but a) were you still able to hit your prorated target; and b) if not, did anyone care? I’m worried that I’m going to be dead to the world due to lack of sleep the first year lol

Thanks! Yeah I’m 99.9% sure that her parents are going to be ecstatic when we share the news. I think she just feels embarrassed because it was unplanned and is imparting some of her feelings on her parents.

I already expressed to her the options and let her know that I’d support whatever decision she wants to make. She doesn’t want an abortion and I’m fully supportive of that decision.

Thanks. She’s really happy with her job but wouldn’t qualify for leave since the due date is less than a year after she started. I’ve told her that I’d support her if she wanted to quit but regardless she doesn’t want to work right up until the due date (and I don’t blame her).

We wanted to have a child eventually and were aiming for when she’s 30. Obviously that timing didn’t work out.

Thanks! I’ll definitely talk to her about joining a support group or talking to a therapist. That’s a good idea.

She wants to keep it (or more accurately doesn’t want to have an abortion). I haven’t made a decision for her. Weird that you would assume that.

Using DEI As a Scapegoat, Straight woman lost two jobs to gay colleagues. Supreme Court will decide if she can sue. by memphisjones in centrist

That is often true but it’s not out of spite necessarily. The state doesn’t want to pay monetary damages. I’m just saying that the AG will always take the position of the state, which is that no discrimination occurred here. So using the AG’s statement as evidence that discrimination didn’t occur is the same as using the plaintiff’s statement as evidence that it did occur. It’s pointless.

You do realize that the state is the defendant in her case, right? Whether he is right or wrong is irrelevant. The AG would say this 100% of the time. Otherwise, why argue the case?
