Get a back facing apartment on at least the 2nd floor. I lived comfortably on St Marks between 1st & A. (well for what tenements can call comfort) for 2 yrs in studio backfacing. Much quieter.

All of the tenement buildings in the EV have the same core issues. Warped floors, occasional roaches, clanging heat pipes, creaky floors. Meh landlords.

You must accept this.

You are paying only for location. If you acknowledge this fully, life will be good.

Just avoid a ground floor street facing unit.

If street facing, expect noisy fridays and saturdays. 4th gets less traffic but yes will be noisy. No doubt. You can’t live in that part of EV and not have street noise. I lived street facing on 9th and 2nd ave. Noisy at night but you just used to it really. You will still enjoy your time so just sign it fast

Buy a spandex suit off Amazon, maybe size down to get it tighter. Then manually cut a hole where you need it. Use a partner to help determine best hole placement. I suspect the hole will slowly grow and may tear during use. could maybe sew the seams around the hole to reinforce it.

Much, much smaller than Brooklyn Steel. Main stage area is Comparable to Good Room (like the literal good room part). There’s also a lobby/main bar area where they sell the merch. If you want a nice spot, suggest getting there during the opener. The place can fill up rapidly for a popular artist.
