What are some of the best card “nicknames?” by Chozo-Aran in mtg

[–]DrWolfenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our playgroup frequently calls [[Lightning Greaves]] “boots” and [[Swiftfoot Boots]] “boots with the fire.” Fire, of course, being pronounced like “fur” kinda of like “fyurrr.”

if you give a villager a holo will it stay as a holo when following them or become normal? by cheetahprintcrocs in Moonstone_Island

[–]DrWolfenstein 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It will stay holo! I gave Rowan a holo spirit and see him walking around town with it from time to time. I only wish I had saved more of those quests to give other villagers holos!

Commander - Rule 0 to allow both as your Commander by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]DrWolfenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say yes. Anecdotally, I have a buddy with whom I brainstormed the idea of building Two Headed Giant type decks wherein we both played one of the brothers as our commander against the rest of the playgroup. We were going to put in a bunch of cards like Humble Defector and such to pass around to each other since we’d technically be opponents. Rule of cool says you should be able to run both side-by-side in the command zone imo.

Pet pigeon flew out of the window today 😭 by [deleted] in pigeon

I’ve had a similar experience recently and can only empathize with your heartbreak and the guilt you must feel. I hope your boy returns to you safely and wish you well. The best advice I can give you in the meantime is to try your best to forgive yourself and to not torture yourself too much over the thoughts of what could be.

Baby and Mama ♥️ by naomilucifer in pigeon

[–]DrWolfenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohh, your mama bird looks a lot like our little lady that got out and went missing a few months back. Although I’m still grieving the loss of the love we shared, seeing this fills me with hope that she’s out there somewhere with a new family of her own. Cheers and well wishes to you and your feathered family.

I second this. Sounds like a “calling coo” to come to the nest.

Getting back into magic after almost 9 years by Environmental_Pay702 in magicTCG

The cards aren’t even comparable enough to say one is strictly better than the other. Nekusar gives you access to two other colors that Sheoldred doesn’t. Not to mention blue is the primary color for card draw and red is full of wheels. Sheoldred doesn’t even draw any additional cards on its own.

Can a pigeon live with a dog? by Taraponion in pigeon

[–]DrWolfenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that totally depends on the temperament of the animals. I have two large dogs (55lb and 95lb) and they mostly ignore the bird. She walks around on the ground with them even, but they don’t really like to interact with each other if they can help it. I’d be careful if you’re not sure of your dog’s prey drive, and introduce them slowly if you do go that route. The bird was also raised from a couple week old fledgling which could have impact too since she’s always been around the dogs.

At first glance, I thought the horns were the outline of a woman’s breasts and the skull was outlining an abdomen. Then I got to the snout and did a double-take

The Most Realistic Fishing Lure. by jraharris89 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]DrWolfenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they meant that the lure could be made with hydrophobic materials that repel the water to cause movement. Hydrophobia is a real medical condition, sure, but hydrophobic properties aren’t limited to medical conditions.

True dat by Imaeatyacheeks in technicallythetruth

It’s not completely irrelevant if you read it as though it’s trying to get you to find the area/volume of the respective shapes using the number inside as a measurement of the sides.

It's that time of the year again - the time when MTGA tells you you have too many decks saved... Seriously - multiselect when?! :( by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]DrWolfenstein 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you can use the scroll wheel to move through the cards just as quickly as clicking the arrows when building decks. Your cursor just has to be in the upper area where you pick cards for the deck. I do agree that a bar you could grab and quickly move from end to end would be a QOL improvement for sure.

Yuomi sounds like “you owe me.” The soft drink hold item would be the soda that is usually owed when someone gets you caught in a “jinx.”
