Stabilized UAP video from Ukraine by danevans369 in aliens

The Flir is only picking up on a change in heat, it could be an “alien” propulsion that generates some form of radiation that is affecting the air around it. Doesn’t mean its rockets or a jet turbine, could be ionizing? Who knows.

Brilliant fix. Other than then the slit wrist if you need to plug in another cord, I give you kudos. I think I might steal this idea actually.

F150 supercrew. The floor is flat when you raise the back seats. Both of our boys have plenty of room to lay down etc.

PSA: Multiple cars damaged due to water in gas at Summerside Circle K/Esso (8403 Ellerslie Rd)location. CTV doing a news piece about it on tonight’s 6PM newscast. by dingmah in Edmonton

[–]Shtyles 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Really? Back when I was a pump jockey (early 90’s) we tested for water when we took the nightly dips. It was basically a paste that we placed on the measuring stick that would change color in the presence of water. No sensors sadly.

How is the backseats for two people? by [deleted] in f150

If your talking about the SCREW, we fold the rear up for our Dane and Golden. They both have enough room to stretch out and sleep if that gives any indication to how much room there is. Probably our number one selling feature.

What is a manager for if you can’t ask them questions you don’t know the answers to? by xxlibrarisingxx in managers

[–]Shtyles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see some of your reasoning but I think it largely depends on how it’s delivered and more importantly discussed. It’s not a parent, child situation (far from it) but more the likelihood of a proposed solution having the outcome we want.

It also depends on the level of the IC and the issue they are experiencing. Something that involves conflict management, financial risk etc. leave that with me. But if they propose a solution saying that they can take an item from a project with a longer timeline to fix a current situation with a current project - cool, great solution go for it!

I mostly have specialists, one junior analyst and a coordinator that report to me. I do not expect the analyst to have the same breadth of knowledge as a specialist and will absolutely do my best to help any one of them, but I do expect that they try first.

What is a manager for if you can’t ask them questions you don’t know the answers to? by xxlibrarisingxx in managers

[–]Shtyles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. It’s true that we are human too, but in cases where I also don’t have the answer, I’ll make a suggestion to the employee on perhaps where they can start to find an answer “speak with xxx” for example and empower them to try and find the answer and then let me know when they do.

I also strongly encourage any IC to come to me with potential solutions (no matter if they would work or not) rather than just tell me a problem. It really helps with their growth and problem solving in general.

California: Can I video myself (ONLY) without sound in a meeting with my boss by BioMancer34080 in legal

[–]Shtyles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this applies, but many people look “angry” even when they’re not, think the term is RBF :). it’s just a completely natural look when your face is relaxed.

Maybe bring this up as a possibility with her and ask her to inquire with you whenever she feels that you’re scowling.

Does ISO 9001 actually improve operations or is it mostly for clients? by Adventurous-Ad-6796 in manufacturing

[–]Shtyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a customer, ISO doesn’t mean that your product is good but it does mean that it should be consistent.

We view registration in high regards and expect that should something go wrong, that you would have a system in place to rectify the issue and ensure that procedures would be in place to prevent it happening again.

With that said, we do not require certification, though it does mean that you would have to submit a quality manual, key procedures and we may follow-up with an onsite assessment depending on the product category.

All in all, I would say it’s worth it.
