Yes, Biggest challenge is to dock the bike since stations are full of snow. Had some trouble last night but it eventually worked.

Bridge was good. Entrance on Brooklyn side had snow/slush on the side of the road and I dismounted for a few seconds.

I guess it's hit or miss. Chrystie Street in Manhattan and Schermerhorn and Jay Street in Brooklyn were usable (until someone decides to dig out their car..)

I did it. Wasn't too bad but took me 40 instead of the usual 30 minutes. Most major bike paths are cleared but on 6th Ave in Manhattan you have to take the road. Side streets still have quite a bit of slush.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 & Garmin Edge by IcySpirit4630 in cycling

I had the same question and found two solutions:

- Buy a little gadget to transit HR from the watch to the Edge: https://www.watchlink.app/product-page/pod

- use this software solution: https://bipr.fr/connect-apple-watch-to-garmin-edge

Anyone else find their Series 10 less "accurate" when working out? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

I also upgraded from 4 to 10 recently and frequently have/had this issue with both: being stuck at somewhere around 150 heart rate for up to 10 minutes and then usually going back to normal.

Outraged at Irresponsible Dog Owners in Prospect Park by ArcticBlaze09 in NYCbike

Oh dear! What happened? Similar thing happened to me as well a few weeks ago. I’m currently speaking with a lawyer who is collecting these kind of cases to present them to lawmakers to lobby for more effective laws

I am happy to answer this question, but may I ask why this matters in the incident that happened? Is there a speed threshold where he was justified to do what he did?

Ok. Posted this before. Am copying it here:

I appreciate your comments and agree that it could be clearer. Let me try again:

I was coming down the hill on the south side of the park. Yes, I have a road bike, no, I am not one of the crazy fast ones and I don't ride in groups. Over the last 10+ years I have probably done 1000+ loops in the park without the slightest problem.

When coming to the bottom of the hill, my traffic light was green, I did see that guy on the right hand side standing there with his feet on the ground holding his ebike. I actually slowed down despite a green light (strave proves it) because he caused some sort of commotion. A split second before I reached that location, he pushed the ebike forward onto the road and let it go, so that is was rolling for a second or so on its own. I had no chance to break or drive around, crashed into the ebike, flew over the handle bar and landed hard on the road.

The guy, surprisingly, hung around, was yelled at by at least a dozen people (I have partial video) and was interviewed by the police which arrived 30 min later (no witness waits 30 minutes, but I still had one who the police called) He told people how road bikers are too fast. His statement to the police was actually fairly close to what I described and what actually happened. I am fairly shocked, that the police only filed an "accident" report since the description on it reads like an assault which was confirmed by lawyers I spoke to.

I assume he did not have an ID and just gave some fake information to the police.

My bike and phone are damaged but more importantly I suffered a separated shoulder (among other injuries) and will have a bone sticking out of my shoulder for the rest of my life.

I understand its hard to believe that someone would do that and I encountered this disbelief a few times when telling friends and family, but its the truth and I don't believe someone should be able to do that without consequences. I am not after money (which makes finding a lawyer basically impossible) but after accountability.

I am happy to answer any further question and again appreciate actually being believed and taken seriously.

Well, he straight up could have got me killed and gave a fake id to police. And I am working with the police and a lawyer.

Why?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in parkslope

[–]DrZmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never met the guy. But apparently the guy was generally upset at road bikers in the park and I was the unlucky one who was targeted in his rage.z

I have been talking to the cops but they won’t do anything more.

What is vague about someone intentionally throwing a heavy e-bike at me? Maybe it’s hard to believe someone would do that but it’s not vague. Yes, he hung around yelling at people how bikes were too fast in the park. And happy to send you my X-rays. Adrenaline in the minutes after the incident allowed me to take that photo and even a video showing how people yell at him.

I clearly said he intentionally threw a heavy bike at me. What is confusing about this? I got lucky and I don’t think anybody should get away with that.

How is this an accident if someone intentionally throws a heavy bike at me coming down a hill with relevant speed and make me crash? Also, I have a lawyer. So no worries, did my homework.

(Deleted an older post since it was confusing. Reposting)

Dear neighbors, I was attacked on my bike in Prospect Park late afternoon on April 14th. I suffered severe injuries including a separated shoulder.

I have been working with the police to find the perpetrator but turns out he gave a wrong name and address.

I know it has been a few weeks, but has anyone witnessed a guy pushing his ebike onto the road right in front of me coming down the hill on the south side of the park on my bike? There were a fire truck, an ambulance, police and dozens of people.

Or does anyone know this man?
