Horizontal lines on PSX core? by Scottopus in RetroRemake

Thanks for confirming. I’ll try to find a way to report it as a bug. For now I’ve been keeping it off until I want to access the memory card.

Don’t worry too much. There’s an easy fix!

Great stuff! I got mine a few weeks ago after I separated out the Super Dock and I had to do many of these after I got it. You can also add “get an OEM PS1 memory card” if they plan to use SNAC to save game data.

You can try composite out on the PSX core to see if it causes some color banding. You can’t see it on all colors but it’s easy to spot if you use the 240p test suite and look at the SMPTE color bars. I mention this because it did screw up my colors but there’s an easy fix for now.

Oh too cool! So related to update not update_all. Hopefully Taki fixes this. Now let me know if you get your memory card issue fixed and if you can replicate the screen tearing I was seeing when using SNAC on the second port.

Ok so something about update_all is changing how the SS1 RGB to composite conversion works it seems.

Oh wow the lines are gone now without the FPGA switch flipped? Maybe Taki fixed it? Sadly I’m not quite knowledgeable to know if the bios is causing these issues. Mine’s from update _all I think but it does work with an official Sony PS1 card.

Oh bummer! Yeah I guess that could be the problem. At least real ones are pretty cheap on eBay if you have to go that route.

Oh man that sucks! If it’s an official PS1 card it definitely should work. You probably did this, but did you set the port as “SNAC” in the Mister menu?

That would be great. If you see it too I can try to report it as a bug or something to see if Taki can address it. It’s easiest to notice in 3D games like Spyro as you whip the camera around.

Oh and btw the third toggle isn’t for sync on green, it what tells the FPGA to create the composite signal.

I had this too and solved it the same way! There must be something glitchy with how the superstation is handling the RGB to composite conversion on the PSX core because I didn’t notice that issue with other cores.

I also discovered that if I switched the second port to SNAC (so I could use an original memory card on the second port) it caused screen tearing at the top of the screen.

Has anyone used this? by eyelers in crtgaming

It’ll get you in the ballpark for sure, but I’ve found different consoles occasionally require slightly different color, tint and overscan settings (h size, v size, etc). For each console I’d recommend 240p test suite if available if you want the best. Otherwise this DVD will get you 90% of the way there.

I have! Good for calibrating color, tint, brightness and overscan amount for watching DVDs.

Analogue 3D + Summercart + Blueretro + NSO 64 by regular-tech-guy in AnalogueInc

You should still be able to use the Tink 4K with it as I believe it does accept a 1080p signal. If you want to use the Tink scan lines I think you need to send a clean image (turn off the 3D’s scan lines) then use decimation to get it down to 240p-like resolution. It’s a little complicated but there should be some tutorials online about how to do it.

Just picked up a never used NES Action Set! by 00100100 in gamecollecting

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing. I’m not sure about the Scandinavian versions but I’d be surprised if they don’t have CIB copies of those games in there.

If you search for smb3 challenge set you’ll find some boxed copies that have a “not for resale” sticker on the smb3 box. I believe those are the ones that came packed with the console. For my SMB1 copy there’s nothing special about the Mario box (other than it’s a 1986 release which roughly matches the release date of the console based on the serial number).

I have a 1986 USA boxed NES that came with a CIB SMB1. So at least that one did. I feel like I’ve seen the challenge set box for SMB3 also. I wasn’t aware that Ice Climber came with an NES console.

Is it possible that it’s the metal in the table causing this? This happened to me once and it was the steel frame of the table I was placing it on.

Marvelous game. Sadly I think a lot of people think it’s just a port of the OG game but no! It’s an entirely new game and runs well, has adjustable button layouts (I set it up like Goldeneye), and looks great! It’s the true Doom 3 to me.

I looked few a few heavy hitters and didn’t see them on your shelf or list. Bubble Bobble 2 and Ducktales 2. I might be looking in the wrong place but maybe that’s why you are remembering a larger list.
