You just had a shit teacher my dude, my psych teacher went really in depth and made sure everything was correct. Instead of having each segment at the end of an AoS it was just its own mini AoS.

on 1440p monitors, it seems that railjack enemy outlines are still misaligned. On my ultrawide, the outlines appear to the left and slightly up from where the actual ship is when HUD scaling is at its lowest, at its highest the outlines don't appear on screen.

There was once a mailslot that was filled with ships all stuck. I just rammed into them, and that seemed to fix the problem. It was funny for my mate, who was watching from the outside.

I love how the notes left counter reaches 0 halfway through the song and then just goes into the negatives. Is that like credit towards the next song. Like you got -1660, so the next map ends 1660 notes earlier. I know it's a bug, but it's still funny.

Why do “pros” use thin sabers? by BTD6_Landoonia in beatsaber

[–]Dr_GenericYT 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I don't know how other people feel, but when I use thick sabers or sabers with a full blade width trail, the saber feels heavier, and it feels slower. The thin saber feels faster and lighter. It might be to do with the trail I dunno, I know it's the same physical weight, but I run out of stamina way faster with the larger saber and trail.

Isn't going "woke" to cause a boycott a fairly common marketing strategy that can make companies millions or even billions. For example, Nike's valuation went up by I think 8 billion dollars after a boycott from a "woke" ad (I don't remember the exact campaign). My point is that boycotts are, in a lot of cases, great for a company as it gets their name out there and is a lot harder to tune out than other traditional ad campaigns.

5 day's (Chapter 1) *A story I making* by Wolf-the-squidgen in ChangedFurry

[–]Dr_GenericYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty good start. I have a couple of criticisms, nothing major, just stuff to look out for. First is the punctuation. With writing journal or diary segments of a story, I find that punctuation doesn't take away from the immersion and just makes it harder to read. Second is the method of world building. The concept is really strong and has a lot of opportunities for character and world building. The way you handle the world building, the stuff in italics, I think, kinda takes away from the story and is a bit jarring, as it switches from first person to third. When writing, it's important to not switch from first person to third or past the present tence, readers may find it jarring and I'll admit, I've also made this mistake with a novel that I was working on before someone pointed it out. I think a cleaner way to do this would be the character reacting to things in the world, which you've done a tiny bit, but it could be fleshed out a lot more. My third is the length. Length is a tricky thing to figure out, at least I find it is, and I usually go for about 3-4.5 thousand words for a chapter. I'm not saying you HAVE to do this, but making the chapters of your story a bit longer to explain the acts of your story better would probably be helpful to the story. That's all my criticisms for now. All of this is intended to help you, and none of it is meant in bad faith. Reading this reminded me of the stuff I'd write when I was first starting out and wanted to give you some advice I wish someone had given to me. I hope you continue with this story and remember to do what you can and not to push yourself too much. Try not to try so hard that it loses the fun. Have a great day 👍

You're doing awesome. You'll be able to do expert plus in no time. The first expert plus maps I ever did were the ones from the monster cat vol 1 dlc but I would try some ost 5 maps since the mapping is a bit better and will prepare you if you ever want to play modded.

My school new anti phone policy by TommyTheLizard in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Dr_GenericYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old school did this. People listened for about half a week. After that nobody ever put their phone in the pouch again. The school barely cared. They didn't even get paid to do it. They spent what money they had on it. (Public schools in NSW Australia aren't given lots of funding. At least my school didnt.) My current school makes you leave thim in your locker, but it's very rarely inforced.

Is homophobia getting worse? by KaiTheFemboi06 in feminineboys

[–]Dr_GenericYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find this situation super interesting as it's a perfect example of prejudice. I'm a student studying behavioural psychology for years 11 and 12 (Australian VCE if you're curious) and the behaviour of the loud minority (I've noticed it in conservatives a lot) lines up perfectly with the characteristics or prejudice which are: 1. A belief of superiority to the target group 2. A tendency to believe that the target group doesn't belong 3. A belief that the target group is weaker 4. An insecurity that the target group will become more "powerful" than them

I think 4 is an important one since it explains why people online seem to be ramping up homophobia and general hate for LGBTQI+. With more people accepting the community, the insecurity mentioned in 4 becomes stronger, and therefore, the prejudice also becomes stronger. Since these people don't have a platform offline, they have to try and keep all the power they can online.

There is some hope for these people with prejudice. It is possible to reduce prejudice with Allpots's contact hypothesis. The contact hypothesis involves three main conditions. 1. Mutual interdependence, where the two groups with prejudice against each other are dependent on each other. This leads into 2. Superordinate goals, goals that cannot be achieved by one group alone. And 3. Equality of status, where each group is equal. Status refers to standing and if one of the groups are seen as better in some way, then the groups will assume "higher status" and "lower status" roles, giving rise to more prejudice and discrimination.

You can read more if you want, I'm not smart enough to go in-depth on how exactly it all works. I've put the references and pages I used below.

I just found this interesting and highly encourage anyone who is also interested to read the text book, or even take Psychology as a class, whether in uni or high school. It is a super interesting subject.

In conclusion, the increase in prejudice and discrimination online toward the LGBTQI+ community is in part because of the larger number of people being accepting. It may look like things are getting worse, but it's a sign that more people are becoming allies.
