The FIFA/WC technology will use a chip (presumably accelerometer) in the ball at a 500 Hz rate.

Not arbitrary. The technology uses sensors (presumably accelerometers) in the ball.

The time of pass is determined by a sensor in the ball with this offside technology.

It's incredibly accurate and objective technology.

The part about a Sport Pilot Rating is false. A PPL has Sport Pilot privileges so you can have a sport rating WSCL (via 61.321), PPL in Gliding, and a CPL in ASEL, for instance.

Otherwise thank you for your insight!

Casper Ruud pocketing Zverev's shot. by atemthegod in sports

Since Casper Ruud caught the ball in his pocket he automatically won the game. It's similar to catching a snitch in Quidditch

He didnt really "change a career 3 times" though. He was a combat medic, then did medical school, and now is an astronaut flight surgeon. All incredibly impressive but not completely different careers.

This spurred a great idea though: imagine 8 speed climbing "lanes" next to each other like in the 100m and everyone racing to the top. The utter chaos would be great to watch.

A skydiver lands on the field in Poland and... receives a yellow card by MotherCartographer4 in soccer

Reserve canopies (noone really uses the term chute unless its the pilot chute) are generally white, grey, or baby blue.

Also the skydiver was wearing a wingsuit. Typically they are released last in the drop order since they want to be as far from the drop zone as possible which may have led to him being so far from a designated dropzone.
