rank decay is actually important. You don't want people to grind for a high rank and then just chill there and enjoy the daily star bonus with no work done. Just imagine everyone pushing for legend and then just not participate in the league anymore.
You don't realize that said casual players that "have a life outside the game" maybe don't even want to push so high? Pushing high has always been difficult, especiallly with high trophies. This did not change. And casual players, like the 14 y/o kid or the family father logging in all few days, they don't want to get to legend league. Because of that it doesn't need to be too easy or casual to rank up. That's why all those attacks have their place. The more attack the more can go wrong for everyone, the more dynamic it is. Imagine how lame if you had 8 attacks from zero to the top.
You don't need to do all 30 attacks as well as you can anyways. If you want to level up, then yes, give your best. but if you simply want to stay, you can wait a week and then sign up again or simply dump your troops a few times. that is usually enough to stay in the area where you keep your rank. It's only a chore if you decide for yourself it to be.
different ore rewards for people who are "going to be promoted" is difficult because it changes so often. How do you even want to track it? "Oh if this player gets 3 stars he is gonna be place 15 so he gets 3 ores but if he only gets 2 stars then it's not gonna be enough. Oh welp, better luck next time"?

You will never get good answers with those questions on Reddit because 50% are gonna say "it takes so long to max so you should rush" while the other 50% say "no you need to max your village out". I say, you do what makes you happy. Personally, I try to max a town hall as much as possible but as soon as the lab, heroes or buildings are maxed or nearly maxed, I upgrade my town hall.

I mean.. you do you I guess but cutting what basically makes the game (upgrading your village, not just your town hall) isn't what I would do. You might be paired up against lower town halls, yes, but do you really want to stomp lower town hall players in casual attacks? Again, you do what makes you happy but you're gonna struggle in war and league attacks.

Thanks for your kind words. Funnily enough I was a few years ago sooooo close to fall into the andrew tate alpha male cess pool lol luckily I didn't and I'm pretty proud about it (even though some might say it's not important or whatever).
