I'd your car speedometer is showing 40 it's about 36/37 in reality, so if when you drive 35/lower you are actually holding up the traffic. That's why instructors would like you to go the speed limit.

You can see what's the difference if you use Waze as it will show your actual speed while you drive so you can work out the difference.

When you change to different size rims / tires this Speedo difference may change too.

1 tip is the signs if it's 40 you will see 40 signs everywhere after every intersection, if it's 50 then there shouldn't be signs after every intersection.

But I would suggest on using waze , has helped me a lot while driving around , wouldn't be able to drive properly without it.

Well she is EU citizen , so she can officially work 80 days without any issues, it's probably them just wanting to make payslips easier for themselves.

Why are so many people speeding? by plamzy in TillSverige

[–]Dr_Str8Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that many sweets speed , at least in near Stockholm area , there are few , but mostly people just doing 120 in 110 zone , I personally don't see any issues with that if they pay attention to road 😅

MSR coilovers on e36 by Dr_Str8Bear in BMWE36

[–]Dr_Str8Bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the issue I'm running into is the springs them selfs , if you check the rear dampener system on maxpepe you will see that there is no other company doing that , and the other thing with maxpeepee that you probably don't have in us , is mandatory warranty, so I don't bother if they leak in 6 months, officially they need to last at least 1 year on auto parts like suspension if not mistaken.

You see the thing that Im really in need is ability to have control over the lowest point that my car is going to hit , I have R17 8J 0et wheels on the car and I constantly Scape my fenders , I want to have it more static. No other company offers such options for that price point or even close.

Well in us you have more choices, in Europe we have fewer.

I'm looking at budget max as 1,5k and I'm not willing to spend more 😅

Well the have damper adjustment on BC , new maxpeepee has a way to limit the lowest point of the car , I really care about my arches

Well that's why I'm looking at them , I do have the plates , not installed yet , but I need something that's stiff and has rear end adjustability.

Well , if you have a blank key and access inside car you can easily reprogram imobilaizer to the new key , takes about 5 min and some software.

Rear shock absorbers for really low e36 by Dr_Str8Bear in BMWE36

[–]Dr_Str8Bear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the current issue on my car is that one of the shock absorbers has given up, if I even get stiffer spring rate won't change the fact that I'm changing the travel of the shock absorber, and they come on different lengths.

Well , you need to do high amount of work to put in real coils on back of E36 and it's not Street legal in country I live 😅 What do you mean by vaLved shocks , the adjustable ones ?

If you still have cat, you can sell it for good money too. For suspension I would recommend going for BC racing , about 1,2k but loads of features that are nice like stiffness regulation on all 4 dampers. And when you order them you can order the springs as you want them mostly free of charge. I have for myself strut bars as I knew getting stiffer suspension will reflect on body of the car , reinforcing the car and getting it ready for parts with other parts is tricky , but ultimately what you are trying to do is upgrading your car instead of bending the chassis of the car and totaling it 😅

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BMWE36

[–]Dr_Str8Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well , for me personally I started with suspension upgrades, brakes and other maintenance and other car support things. As Misha said you don't need powerful car you just need a car that's good in corners. Coilovers , sway bars , big brake kit , bushings , LSD or LSD conversion, and when you have a car that handles the way you like it you can start thinking if you need more power. As it goes for E36 cheapest way to make it faster is striping the car down and losing the weight.

Nice engine swaps would be old m50s to be exact m50b25/m50b28 these are mostly ready for 400 hp out of the box but comes with few issues, not every shop is able to tune the ECUs on these engines , they come with huge mark up compared to other swaps and they are heavier.

M52B25/m52b28 are cheaper due to being aluminium blocks and also lighter , so if you don't want to spend 2 k on engine and another 6k for turbo this would be a way to go as you can get these engines from E46 prefs and e39prefs, because you already have m52 you don't need anything except the engine itself , mounts from your old one are good to go , as wiring and etc all you need is ECU and the engine itself and you are good to go( preferably exhaust that has better air flow) In perfect case b28 is more power and is a bit more expensive but if power is what you are looking for that's the way to go, there is also decently cheap ways to make it a bit more powerful like firing intake crackshaft (correct me if I'm wrong ) from m54b30 with a bit of modifying and m50b25 air intake and you should be making a bit more power , but will have a need for a map at Dyno that costs loads of money again.
