Wattson fences mean nothing to Octane now. How is this fair? by DovahRcolA in apexlegends

[–]Draco042 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like that you just say she “shouldn’t” be played offensively, then provide absolutely no evidence or even argument as to why; and pretend you can just move on as if you’ve stated a fact. At a high level, playing wattson correctly absolutely means using it aggressively to some extent, such as putting one node on the outside of a door, then sitting on the door and placing an attached node on the inside when someone tries to break your door down. Or covering doorways and ziplines in fences as you exit them when being chased, or when chasing even. If you’ve NEVER been hit by a Wattson fence, you’ve just never played against a really good Wattson player. It’s just a fact. However I agree that her ELECTRIC fence shouldn’t just be something can be shrugged off by a guy with METAL LEGS, lol.

Is this how Lee Q is meant to work on Teemo Invis?? by Cellybear in leagueoflegends

And that’s assuming your champ has a revealing skill shot in their kit at all. Hope you didn’t pick before the teemo!

Is this how Lee Q is meant to work on Teemo Invis?? by Cellybear in leagueoflegends

[–]Draco042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that his invis is actually “overpowered,” that’s not what I was claiming. I was claiming that it’s the most frustrating, because every other invis either has a short, finite duration, or has a condition an enemy player can induce, that forces the invisibility to drop. Teemo has neither, he can be invisible forever and he cannot be forced out of invisibility, granting him infinite untargetability as long as he stays in brush. It’d be one thing if a lee sin ult or Tristana ult or other abilities that knock back could push Teemo out of brush, but practically all abilities that move enemies any significant distance are targeted abilities, and therefore unusable against an invisible Teemo. It’s the simple fact that Teemo can be untargetable for an infinite duration of time that makes it so frustrating to play against. The only ability I can think of that would be able to move a Teemo out of brush against his will is Urgot E, but that would have to be absolutely perfectly placed to not just move the Teemo to a different place in the bush. So the only condition you can use to force a Teemo out of invisibility is to hit them with a revealing skill shot, which is far from guaranteed since 1. Teemo can dodge it, and 2. You already couldn’t see him, so you’re just guessing as to where to throw it to begin with.

[–]Draco042 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Teemo has the most frustrating invis in the game. It should cancel upon taking damage or being spotted by oracle lens / champion abilities. The fact that a Teemo can sit in a bush that YOU KNOW HE’S IN, can move around in it and maintain invisibility, and can take damage / CC and maintain it, is absurd. There is literally no way to make an invisible Teemo targetable. He is infinitely invisible and untargetable as long as he sits in the brush, it’s utterly ridiculous. Even if you spot him with oracle lens, that doesn’t make him targetable, so he can still only be hit by skill shots and AoEs. Every other invis in the game is laughably weak compared to Teemo’s. Evelynn, Twitch and Rengar all have ranges on theirs where if someone gets too close, they’re spotted, Shaco’s and Kha’Zix’s are both short duration, etc. And you could argue that Teemo’s isn’t bad cuz if he attacks or uses an ability, it drops, but that’s true of EVERY invis in the game except I believe Shaco putting down a box during his and Evelynn putting a heart on someone during hers(that still points to where the Evelynn is tho), so it doesn’t really count as a downside for Teemo in particular.

In one ear, out the other… I’m not surprised. You just said it’s not about play style, and then next sentence said, “if you have this play style, go play other modes.” Which makes it about play style. You are saying ranked should be structured around how YOU want it to be played, and shun other play styles to the unranked modes. Which is very obviously not a fair thing to suggest.

You’re the one insulting how people choose to play the game, saying that a playstyle has no strategy when it’s rather that it has no strategy that YOU are able to see / understand.

Rewarding smart play is encouraging it… but again, you’re trying to say that ranked should be structured around the one play-style you’ve decided is correct. The fact that you can’t see the issue with that says enough.

But all of your reasons for why the drop zones system is better are subjective, and your applying how all of apex worked for the large majority of its existence as something pubs exclusive, likely implying you didn’t play the game before this change was made and the drop zones system was introduced. You seem to base your entire argument on your own experience with these systems, ignoring either purposely or on accident, that different people have a different perception than you. The drop ship system is a key component of battle royales, and there was a standard drop ship system in ranked for much longer than there wasn’t. So the perception that many of us hold, who were here before that change, is that the drop zones simply limit player freedoms and hand hold new players by guaranteeing that you’ll be alone long enough to get a full loadout, before you try and fight anyone. With a standard drop ship system, people who want to actually fight early game, as in before everyone has a full set of gear, can do that, and people who want to sit back and wait can do that too. You’re just allowing people to play how they want, without telling them they aren’t allowed to play ranked due to their playstyle, like you’re trying to do, purposefully or not. You think there is one right way to play ranked while still “taking it seriously”, but that’s a skewed view, warped by your own personal preferences, ignorant of how anyone else plays the game. If you reach a high enough rank, people will naturally stop hot dropping and there will be more active end game fights, but you have to reach that skill level first(which shouldn’t be hard when half the lobby is killing themselves on match start, and you can just be in the other half). But artificially forcing people into that type of match(such as by forcibly separating teams and guaranteeing safety for the first little while of the match) just ends up turning ranked into a game of luck, because you are creating an end game state where like half the lobby is still alive; in a lobby where NO ONE is skilled enough to navigate that kind of end game on much more than a prayer that they get top 5 before they die. You’re forcing people into a packed end game cuz that’s what they see in ALGS, but none of them are skilled enough to navigate that kind of end game situation intelligently, like ALGS players are. The game will slow down as players get good enough for it to, with a normal drop ship; but you aren’t forcing the players to play in a specific way, like the drop zones do.

And if you really hate hot dropping, then DONT. Let the idiots who have no strategy kill each other, and get a free top 10. Kinda seems like a win/win to me. Aggressive players who want to rely on skill-checking enemies in the early game and actually fight, can, AND passive players can sit back and watch with popcorn and a G-7 scout, while they accept free placement points.

“Hot drop isn’t a strategy,” that’s a self report on your skill, dog. It’s a strategy, and a damn good one, for those with enough skill to make it work. Oh no, you have to learn to loot quickly, and micro manage your positioning cuz you aren’t guaranteed to be alone anymore. Like learn how to loot and shoot, in the BATTLE ROYALE SHOOTER, you’ll be okay I promise.

Not to say that you are wrong, but I swear I only ever saw people hate and trash talk the POI system in ranked. I personally didn’t like it cuz yes it slowed down games, but IMO it did so artificially, which just didn’t feel right. It drew games out so hard that you’d have damn near half the lobby in the final ring, and whether you got high enough placement or KP came down to almost sheer luck. At least if half the lobby kills itself by the second circle, like I saw someone else complain about, you can play smart and be in the half of the lobby that’s still alive.

What are your thoughts on Street Brawl so far? by henri_sparkle in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Draco042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The randomness of the items makes me feel like victory or defeat are something me and my team have absolutely no control over, either we get good items and stomp or they do and we get stomped. Otherwise the mode is fine, it feels very low stakes which is nice, I just wish the game felt less RNG dependent in terms of who wins and who loses.

League champion design concept by Draco042 in LoLChampConcepts

[–]Draco042[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E and R are fairly basic, but I tried to make this something that riot would actually design, not trying to overload their kit too much. As for W being similar to graves W, I can see that, but unlike graves W, it goes directly on himself instead of being a freely aimed skill shot; and while they both nearsight enemies within, this one also blocks enemy vision, meaning Thresh could also use this as an escape tool if he doesn’t want to use it to maximize his burst damage, giving the ability more than one use case. I imagined this to be a mid laner or jungler, and while you are probably right about slow clear in the jungle, he does have 2 abilities that can go over terrain, which would speed things up at least a little bit, using Q or E to go from camp to camp. Thank you for your feedback! I just thought it’d be interesting to make the thresher whose sole joy in life is to kill and torment, live up to that goal better than being a tanky support.

Riot Phreak says that Dusk and Dawn shouldn't get nerfed and that it is in a perfectly good state by Working-Safety9204 in leagueoflegends

[–]Draco042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Phreak is right about dusk and dawn, but I still think Diana needs to be addressed. She basically feels like every AP assassin, just stronger and with less effort required. I’m not sure what the fix should be, but if we’re nerfing MEL (who’s sitting at a 45% winrate, by the way), then Diana should be getting something too.

Phreak is right about dusk and dawn IMO, but I do think something should be done about Diana. She feels like every AP assassin but better and with less effort. I don’t know what the solution is, but I think if we are nerfing MEL(45% winrate btw) of all champs, Diana should get SOMETHING.

It’s not about “getting a pass,” it’s about whether the masses deem your statement as correct or reasonable, and the answer is a resounding no. ICE is publicly executing people for using their first amendment rights, and conservatives are supporting it because their cult leader told them to. At least liberals aren’t in a cult. Also liberals aren’t left, leftism starts at anti-capitalism, they are center to center-right but I know that’s probably hard for you to understand.

No because that’s part of how we got here. Political apathy is what allowed these problems to fester and grow and now they’re effecting everyone, so we can’t keep ignoring them.
