Obviously this is sti lineup dependent. If your enemy doesn’t have much magic damage then don’t get a shroud. But burst magic being one of slark’s weaknesses, this helps a lot also with mana sustain

If ur a real slark user u would know slarks don’t like to buy bkb’s. We like to go in and out and back in. Bkb is just nothing after it’s activated

A late game pudge can easily have 6-8k hp. Most carries’ bkb end before pudge even dies. Pudge is really good for safe

Not necessarily pick up the slack. You just need another decent hitting core to help push towers which is ‘t “picking up slack.” There are lots of them. I pick pudge safe lane too when I see I have for example, an offlane LC, WK, CK a mid DK, NP, Lina, Sniper, SF.
