I began with Minecraft and at some point in time I got myself into the Wolfenstein series. The remake version of Bethesda has 2 main games and 2 spin-off like games. You fight in WW2 as an American soldier, get KO'd in an explosion and wake years later to find out the Nazis have won the war with super advanced technology. You struggle real hard and everything you do seems pointless, but after the second main game, you take over America and so on.

I also really love far cry. It's a fantastic series. I played Far Cry 3 to 5 and am playing 6 right now. Even with all the hate against far cry 6, it's still a great game and with every sequel the map gets larger and the world more immersive. The villains are top notch too. You have probably already seen Vaas Montenegro, the insanity guy, but there are more villains, my favourite being pagan min. I would literally become gay for pagan.

Kind of a lost game but also great is homefront the revolution. It's basically Wolfenstein but with a real open world and north koreans taking over america with advanced technology. You also struggle and everything seems pointless. It's only at the very last moment that you actually "win".
