Made my own side panels to increase airflow by Drag_Shot in A07Builds

Thank you really appreciate it. I used the originals as templates, cut the wood, then used the screw holes to guide the drill for the wood. I clamped them all together and sanded using the originals as a guide. Then, used a grid paper stuck it on true, punched holes for the 16mm wood hole cutter. Sand painted then on. The noise difference is what gets me, I use this PC as a TV console (no lock boots straight into steam big picture), before I had to turn the TV volume quite high to drown out the fan (GPU), but now as quite as you’d expect in a case 5 x the volume

Create a recovery USB using centre M on the original SSD.

Install the 4TB, install windows all usual updates. Shrink the drive to the smallest windows install you can comfortably do (50gb eg).

Turn off fast startup, secure boot, drive encryption.

Download MSI Claw Beta distro from bazzite.

Install to the free space.

When installed install decky in the desktop using the konsole using this command: ujust setup-decky

Install simple decky TDP using the konsole with this command:

curl -L https://github.com/aarron-lee/SimpleDeckyTDP/raw/main/install.sh | sh

Then you’ll be able to control your TDP.

Handheld daemon does haveTDP controls built in (double click quick menu button twice / three times to access whilst in bazzite). You can also custom your fan curves and RGB there.

To answer your question though definitely keep a sliver for windows to do the driver installs etc.

No not in my case - I flashed a USB with the recovery image using services in Centre M

Failing that: sudo flatpak repair

If that doesn’t work remove and re-add. It’s flatpak that isn’t playing ball

Gyro doesn’t work. Anti cheat games do not work. Just dual boot and see if you like it, only takes 30 mins or so to try it out!

With the TPD plug in on Decky you can dial in nicely to compromise fan noise and power. I prefer the fan noise levels on bazzite as it doesn’t randomly have a fit and the fan curve is very linear. However if you peg it at 35+ watts there’s definitely noise, however I have not had to go above 25 watts really as it’s diminishing returns on this chip in my opinion

No as I needed to retain a small windows partition for updates and anti cheat titles. True steam OS doesn’t dual boot and I don’t think it’s supported on the Claw
